The All About Comics Thread 5: Comic Books Ate My Paycheck

So, any guesses on which one of these four Millar books will actually make it past the first issue?

All of them. Three will get to #2. Two will get to #3. One will get to #4 and finish.

All of them will have movie deals.

As long as Tony Harris isn't the artist... all of them.

I wish I had that kind of enthusiasm for comics. I can't seem to get into anything anymore. I just go and finish collecting what I've started like DMZ, Preacher, 100 Bullets, etc.

I've been like that all year. I fell behind on almost everything and couldn't be bothered even reading the few titles I really liked. Then something clicked and now I'm catching up on everything I've missed.

I find I go through entertainment phases: film to TV to comics to music to games to books to film again. When I'm in one of these phases, that medium is basically all I experience. Right now, I'm in a comics phase.

Does everyone else feel like this or am I just a freak?

HAH! I somewhat the same way, but in two's. a couple weeks ago it was tv and books. Now it's blogging and cinema. These meds really help with my creativity. I feel like I did when I made good grades in school.

Yeah, I do the same thing. I have a HUGE backlog of movies that I do want to see but can't be bothered to sit down and watch. I've got an obsessive project going where I'm going through and getting rid of music I don't want anymore, and I'm finding that I'd rather sit and listen to 2 hours of music than sit and watch a movie.

Comics have been holding my attention pretty well, though. Maybe it's because I can read them and listen to music at the same time.

I'm exactly like that. I tear into things then don't touch them for months. Right now I'm in a TV phase watching a lot of old shows on Netflix. I just came out of Comic Consumption where I got as many Hellblazer TPBs as I could as well as both of the Wasteland hardcovers.

This is more exciting to me than Fear Itself.

Joe Casey is a king. Plus, the way it's paced (focusing on the impact of a different villain each issue) strikes me as interesting.
Joe Casey is awesome. I loved his run on Uncanny X-Men. I wish he'd do another long run. Even take over X-Men Legacy from Mike Carey.

They went away?
Uh, duh. They went to Bora Bora. Even they need a break for at least a day.

I really want to read Ultimate Spidey #157 and wish someone would get a scan posted.
