You have any idea how many movies have been "in talks", Having a writer doesn't mean anything, having a meeting doesn't mean anything. There are literally tons of scripts out there or movies that will never be made. Until they announce a release date its not official. Examining possibilities an options means nothing.
 
I think 3 was the perfect stopping point. If they do indeed make more, I will go see them, but right now I hope they leave it be.

right!
thats why its called "in talks" otherwise there wouldnt be anything more to "talk" about and so it would be "in development" which STILL isnt confirmation because they might not like any of the drafts or developments that come through.

I just really hate it when people get a head of themselves "Oh they had a meaning that definitely means its happening" One of my pet peeves along with the people who said Man Wolf would be in three only because of Jameson JR in the second. I just wish when people speculate they take themselves out of the comic world and actually consider the movie making process

But considering Sony said they wanted to to at least three more and are in talks with Sam , If he can't do it , they'll just get someone else. I would say it is happening.

Saying otherwise is like saying "well EA games haven't announced it yet so I guess thy wont do any sports games next year" When it's flat out obvious that they will.


I can understand your point if it was something else other than Spider-man.

He was talking about baseless speculation.

If EA never announces a future sports game, that probably will mean there wont be. You never know what could happen, disinterest, bankruptcy, whatever. Thousands of movies fall through the cracks of development hell. It was what, 10 years between Superman 4 and Superman returns? And they were even on the verge of making a Superman 5. Things fall through and I hate when one person takes one (and the first) meeting as absolute grantee.

but didn't they already meet before? When they talked about possible villains and mentioned that guy who was a Morbius rip-off? and again when Sony met up and said they wanted to do three more?

That was just Sony telling a guy to write a script, not really a meeting of the minds to see the possible future, in fact all they did in this meeting was say lets get a new writer, that is it. And Sony said they want to do six before number 2 came out. Really one meeting doesnt mean ****

I like how they took thier sweet time delivering any pictures of Venom to us fans who saw it in the theaters, but for anyone who buys the DVD, there his face is, just sitting there. I guess the rationale was "They probably already saw enough it on the internet," but it still kind of aggravates me.

Anyway, I'll be buying the 2-Disc SE, probably. I really enjoyed the movie, so it's kind of a no-brainer for me.
