South Park series discussion *spoilers*

To me, it's giving the terrorists exactly what they want. Declaring that they too, one of the most powerful shows in the world, are "so scared" of what Revolution Muslim can do that they surrender. They would've been far better off not saying anything at all.

What do you guys think, though?(honest question)

I think that the reason no one cared when SOUTH PARK did this before 8 years ago is because no one batted an eyelid. I think supporting South Park and talking about the threats only empowers the terrorists and all the news media outlets should just shut the hell up and stop validating the veiled threat on a website. Everyone's acting like the terrorists are after Matt and Trey when they probably don't really care. All this does is incite them into thinking it's something they should be pissed about.

And why would Islamic fundamentalists hate SOUTH PARK?

It's the only show on US television that, every week, insults Jews.

The Jews need it though. Keeps them in line.

As for PM's thinking of the Simpsons, to me, it's merely the Simpsons showing support to South Park, just adding a bit to humor to the situation. I think you over analysed it.

PM I think you misread it too, it seems to me that Simpsons were taking a potshot at Comedy Central/Viacom for censoring South Park because they were scared.

I think widely-seen statements in issues like this should require at least the amount of analysis I gave it. I agree were trying to support South Park too, I just think they utterly failed and ended up boosting the terrorists.

You could be right, but I really don't think it was a potshot. I think it was a misguided attempt at support, and if I did misread it, every single article commenting on it has misread it to.

I still fail to see how it boosts the terrorists. Also, those sites don't analyze it at all, they just say "Simpsons Support South Park" then talk about South Park and the death "threats".

IMO, by giving them exactly what they want: People saying they would fight back, but are too scared of the terrorists power to do so. It boosts their ego, tells them they are in charge and can boss around one of the most widely-watched, influential shows on the planet.

Also, those sites don't analyze it at all, they just say "Simpsons Support South Park" then talk about South Park and the death "threats".

I know. Like I said, you could be right. I'd just be surprised if every single person reporting on it happened to misinterpret it.

I don't think THE SIMPSONS have added humour to anything for about twelve years.

Ever time something like this appears and reminds me the Simpson are still on the air and not funny, I remember what it used to be. Then, I die a little inside.

Actually, I've been watching this season, and find it funny.

But that is just my opinion, which means absolute nothing to everyone else on the board.

Wow, it's depressing that I can't even believe that, after a decade the thought it it actually being funny just seems so impossible... I'm sad now...

Is there any truth in the rumors that the Times Square carbomb was parked next to a Viacom building?

So I was reading the paper, which is damn rare for me, and I actually saw this story. It was parked in Times Square near the Viacom Building but there's nothing substantial connecting it to South Park.

Last night's episode was hilarious.

"I wasn't born with a plastic spoon in my mouth!"

It was funny, but didn't grab me... I feel like I've said that before but am too lazy to look back through this thread

My Direct TV kept going out so I missed like half the jokes. The Vagisil guy was funny though.
