New Ghostbusters!

No. The whole show was just horrible. I never liked it.

Agreed. It was just so. . .out of place.

This is why I'm glad that GB3 will have the originals. Its not GB if its not about Peter, Ray, Egon and Winston.

Extreme did have Egon and Peter guest stared

but yes that is why i said extreme was the weakest ghostbusters thing.

Was Extreme the toon series? I used to watch that every day after Summer camp when I was 8 or 9. I'd get dropped off at home, then I'd grab a brownie, then start watching, usually about two minutes after the show had already started. I even made a comic based on it. A really ****ty comic.

yes it was

It had a female ghostbuster , a disabled guy and stuff like that

I am just having a hard time seeing how effectively a series of classic live-action films can transition smoothly into CG animated films.

Is there precedent for this? Which film series have successfully shifted mediums? Any?

We'll see how it goes with the Ninja Turtles

Stewart little 3 was cartoon where 1+2 were live action

Micky mouse films = cartoon then I think it was twice upon achristmas where it was cgi

Hellboy switched from live action to animated movies starting with Hellboy sword of Storms

I don't know if you called it successfully but they are the ones that come to mind.

Surprised no one said anything about this

Ghostbusters Back in Business
Office scribes set to script for original cast.
by Jim Vejvoda

September 4, 2008 - After a two decade absence, the Ghostbusters finally appear ready to return to the silver screen. Columbia Pictures has tapped the Emmy-nominated writing team of Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky (co-executive producers of The Office) to pen the screenplay.

What's more, Variety reports that the new script will be "for a film designed to bring back together the original cast of Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson." (There were rumors years ago that Ghostbusters 3 would revolve around a younger set of GBs instead.)

The trade adds, "No deals will be made with the original cast until the script is ready, but the gross percentage will certainly be an issue. Sony has a standing policy not to allow more than 25% of first dollar gross out the door."

Harold Ramis recently directed the Sony comedy Year Zero, which was scripted by Eisenberg and Stupnitsky.

Nothing 100% yet but at least there is a script ready for it. Maybe it'll happen, If it's with originals I hope so

They are getting a script to try and lure in the originals, nothing has been remotely signed yet. This wasn't planned by the original cast or anything. It's all the studio's idea at this point.

(My aunt works for Harold Ramis)
