Yeah, that was a pretty stupid "casting" decision, in my opinion. I don't like how they've made him a regular on the show now. Seems like he's in every episode.
Who I do like that they've made a regular? Drew Barrymore as Brian's basically retarded (in the way that Peter is retarded) girlfriend.

Ugh, I was going to say the same thing.
I still watch Family Guy from time to time, but I've noticed that I'm honestly incapable of laughing when they're doing the pop culture references.

I may be strange, but I hate the movies.
But, I love the EU stuff, but even that gets annoying some times.
Star Wars suffers the "Lather, Rinse, Repeat" syndrome. I mean, the current Legacy books are almost identical to the Prequel films in plot.
