I think he works better here, than his appearance in Lost Planet 2.

well not a boss character like sagat or balrog from sfII, more like Abyss from the last game. Like THE final boss. The fact they've all been shown as playable characters leads me to believe otherwise. Also the fact that everyone was balanced in the previous game, there were no multiple boss characters. All teams were randomized until you fought Abyss (boss) 3 times over.

Wesker is too small(At least in his iconic form) to be a boss and people wanted him to be playable.

Besides, he doesn't have the power to cause a dimensional rift. The boss will probably be someone on Dormammu's level.

It will also be a Marvel character as the boss, like in MvsC 1 and in X-Men vs street fighter. They already hinted at that.
