I don't remember where I learned this but apparently she was so busy schedule-wise during filming of Born Again that they cut their losses (and it was the last straw for full-on canon at the time). Don't quote me on that.
So the hammer thing might have been filmed during a time where they wanted some canon adjacent elements only of their choosing before, I guess, this current restructuring going on at Marvel Studios maybe embracing full canon(???).

Again, we'll see.
 
Aaaaaalrighty finally getting to putting the latest season of What If into the timeline. Much later than I hoped but that's what I get for making plans during my break lol. Caught up on the last of the season New Year's Eve and I gotta say I really enjoyed the whole season and can't wait to see the next! to make sure everyone agrees with the placements on the episodes I figured I'd post where I'm planning to add them so everyone has a chance to shoot me input before I get too far.

S02E01 - 2019
S02E02 - 1988
S02E03 - 2014
S02E04 - 2012
S02E05 - 2014
S02E06 - 1498
S02E07 - 1521
S02E08 - 1602
S02E09 - ????

the placements for episodes 6&7 are estimates based on FruityWho50's comments here. For E06 i put it around the middle of his placement and for E07 I put it towards the end because...I don't have much of a better idea tbh. If anyone has input specifically based on these episodes please let me know, it'll take me a bit to get down to those episodes. Otherwise I'm going to get started using these years!

Not sure if I like that, this episode must be before Thor was born (c. 965 AD), but after Wenwu found the Ten Rings (c. 1015). That obviously doesn't work. According to the MCU Wiki, Hela was banished in 1 AD, which works even worse. Still, I think 1521 is too late, this is where, according to the Wiki, the Burger King Comic "Thor, the Mighty Avenger" is set in. But I dunno, it's a tricky situation
 
personally i place ep 6 around 1490-1492 as i think we could have seen columbus discover kahorris tribe if he had traveled to america by then but really anywhere during isabella i's reign works, for episode 7 i personally place it around 940-950 and just assume wenwu found the ten rings a few years earlier than in the main timeline
 
just wanted to add months as well:
- 1 - late 2019 (aug, but not necessarily that specific)
- 2 - june 1988 (quill abducted dec 87)
- 3 - dec 2014
- 4 - may 2012
- 5 - march-april 2014 (depending on your main timeline placement of the winter soldier)
- 6-7 - see above, no specific months
- 8 - no specific month here either just wanted to state the obvious 2018 part of the episode as well lol
- 9 - outside space-time

I agree nothing is ideal really. We have a little while to figure it out tho cause I'm doing this at work in-between catchup from the holidays so it'll take me a day or so to get there. It might be best to put the episode in the middle between Thor's estimated birth and when Wenwu found the Ten Rings so it's...equally incorrect I guess? tbh I'm at a loss for this one. Don't suppose anyone found like historical references in the episode that could place it better huh?

I'm good with 1491 as a middle ground there if everyone else is. And yeah around 945 works as well as anything I guess here

I agree with these months. E01 and E04 with no specific days cause of the five year time jump and Sakaar already being weird time wise. June going with the June 12th start date of the attack for E02, Christmas Eve for E03, E05 matching what we have here date wise for The Winter Soldier

grandmaster refers to the nuking of the chitauri (05/04/12) "a few days ago" but he is on sakaar time…
