Marvel Cinematic Universe - Timeline (Part 2)

Again seems possible but ultimately unlikely or they misunderstood the intent behind it
Sorry to respond to this after such a large gap, had a lot going on in my life and had to step away from certain things for a bit. God I wish Marvel was more forthcoming with WHY they are placing things on the D+ timeline the way they are rather than just dropping and peaceing out.

Anyway, I tend to agree with you that Quantumania is 2025. 10 Million copies may sound like a lot, but I'm going to mention that back in 2007 Deathly Hallows sold 8.3 Million in a single day. An Avenger writing a book which might also contain his story about how he saved the world, probably going to sell like hotcakes in a world full of supers.

I admit there is evidence both ways, but I'm keeping it in 2025 for now. I bet next time Scott and Kang are in the same movie, he'll bring Quantumania up again saying something like 'we dealt with him a couple years ago.'

I put it in 2026 because of the director mentioning Cassie is 18 in the movie. If Scott was generalizing when he said Cassie was 10 in the previous movie in 2018 (and she turns 10 in a few months), 8 years later would add up to 2026. Besides that, I would place it in 2025.

I really feel like Marvel Studios is taking things to generally be around 3 years in the future. For example, a lot of 2021 was 2024, 2022/2025, and it seems 2023/2026. I don't see anything in either Quantumania or Secret Invasion that says they have to specifically be 2025, so I'm perfectly fine with them both in 2026.

I do see your point on the 3 year gap thing, I definetly think they will keep the MCU ahead of current events going forward, because otherwise Kang Dynasty (currently slated for 2026) means everything from now until then happens in 2025/2026...which is simply ridiculous to consider. I know I spoke the opposite in regards to 2024 with Thor and MK, but even I can admit that 30 events in a single year is insanity. I do have a line haha.

Anyway, I'll have to consider your year gap approach a lot more going forward because you might be right in the end. My own guide differs from this one in the sense that I try to keep threads together as best as I can so the overall plot doesn't seem so...all over the place...but I do continually appreciate this forum for the purposes of getting the OCD timeline in a proper order.

Here's hoping the timeline book clears up Moon Knight and Love & Thunder once and for all. We already see it covers She-Hulk so it seems pretty likely.

Some users have suggested placing movies on dates that match their moon phase. I don't think it's necessarily accurate to do this, since the shape of the moon could simply be for convenience or visual effect.

I did however, place Werewolf by Night in December, because of the Latin text saying Ulysses Bloodstone died on the last full moon of the year, with Jack later saying the next full moon is in 5 days.

Now, there is a full moon at the end of Avengers: Endgame, in the Wakanda scenes. There is also a full moon in the establishing shot of London 10 minutes into Eternals. Whether or not the MCU follows the same lunar calendar as real life (I don't think the producers think about it), this means a month passes between Endgame and Eternals, with WandaVision in between.

Should I place Eternals in November 2023, or just leave it in October and ignore the full moon?

I would say unless the moon phases play an actual role in the projects like WbN or MK they should absolutely be ignored. I'd be very surprised if the MCU producers made sure the lunar phases lined up for every single project and we shouldn't act like they do.

Even then, I don't think the thought went into the moon phases as much as people may want to believe. Hopefully, the upcoming book clears that up though .Personally, I don't put any weight into the moon phases given the MCU is a fictional universe and any inconsitency can be chalked up to that. Like even if say Moon Knight were accurate (not saying it isn't), I'm sure there are plenty of examples of the moon that don't line up with our world that would contradict Moon Knight.

Moon phases are still a legitimate timeline indication. I don't think they should be ignored like they are here, but at the same time I don't think they're awfully important for the timeline either.

It doesn't really matter if the creatives thought it out. As with every other timeline placement, it's not for us to decide what the intention was, but to look at the existing evidence as it has been presented.

I don't think anyone is suggesting to place everything by Moon phase. Just properties where it is relevant. Like Moon Knight.

So the last two episodes of Secret Invasion.
First of all, I'm PISSED that they killed off Talos! Bad enough they killed off his wife offscreen. Second, NO WAY is that the real Rhodey, nor was it the real Everett Ross, for that matter. First of all, Skrulls show their true selves when injured, right? Well Ross was injured in Black Panther, almost died. Rhodes was half paralyzed in Civil War. Plus he (she)'s being a total dick in this, and making stupid mistakes, like getting drunk. No way. Mark my words. Both of these government dudes real bodies will be found down in the basement where the Skrulls keep the people they copied and stole memories from. Also, what's up with Fury's wife telling "Rhodey" that Fury was fired? Rhodey was the one that did the firing! Are there two fake Rhodeys?
