Lost *spoilers*

Yeah, I believe Jacob trapped his enemy in the cabin and that is who we've seen.

That is interesting, because Fake Locke knew he wouldn't be in the cabin and asked Jacob. I wonder how Ben came to think that it's Jacob's cabin. But also Illana went to the cabin first and there was a clue for the statue. God damn I love this show it always keeps me guessing.

I just thought of something. If we call knock off brand Oakley's Foakley's... By that logic Fake Locke would be Focke. That made me laugh.

If you don't see the humor in it, keep in mind that I'm tired.

Anyway, more rumors about casting are coming up. It's no surprise really, but they are asking (and no one in particular... Although some characters have been named) people back to reprise their role to wrap up loose ends.
Besides Charlie, Shannon has been named... And obviously Claire is coming back full time

Actually a popular name for the adversary has been Flocke

Flashbacks/Flashforwards

Matthew Fox stated in a recent interview that in the final season, the characters of Jack Shepard and John Locke "will come head to head." The final season will also bring the characters from the two time lines together and "will be very linear - no more flashbacks, nothing."

Yes, Matthew Fox said that Season 6 would be very linear, but he's not a writer on the show. Nor have the writers even begun to write the season yet, so... I mean the OTHER part of your spoiler, he'd probably know about, but he is only speculating at this point.

He is the only cast member to know how it ends. But also remember the comic con video of Pierre Chang, The story has changed quite a bit from what they thought was going to happen. So until they actually write it, no one can quite say.

As far as I know, he only knows the last image of the show. That's as helpful to fans as knowing that "scar" would be the last word in the last book of Harry Potter.

We the quote is:
"I do know how the show's going to end, I know what the last images will be."

So he knows where the overall story is going to end. I don't think it was a one image the writers gave to him but the actually planned ending scenes which tells you a lot. But this doesn't cover any twists or turns in the way. I doubt they're doing away with flashbacks, but it does seem obvious that the last season would be more linear like the first three seasons

That's true, and I do think Fox has a pretty good idea of what's going to happen because I've had faith in the writers all this time that they've know what they're doing, so... If they tell Matt one thing, then if what they've been doing never changes they'll never have to correct him.

So I was into this show when it first started and when we decided we'd rather pay for booze than cable I sort've slipped away from it. Now I watch the newer episodes at the pub because the bartender is a fanatic and records them all on the TV so when the pub shuts down it's Lost time.

Now I went to buying all the seasons and playing catch up. I'm in Season II right now and noticed Hurley namedrops the Hold Steady in a flashback. Also heard that he's reading Y in one episode. Love this show.

so I'm watching season 2 again. I'm kind of wondering if there is more significance to the button than just to stop the swan from exploding. Yemi/smokey/Flocke tells Eko that it's an important job, while Ben seems to want Locke to stop entering the numbers. (He tells him that he didn't enter the numbers and nothing happened)

I'm just wondering if somehow it ties into the rivalry between Jacob and Flocke

Hmm... Well, the biggest piece of evidence that the buttons may mean something more than creating an explosion or whatever would be the hieroglyphics at the end of the countdown. I don't think Ben telling Locke he didn't push the buttons has any more significance to it other than Ben was trying to manipulate the gullible Locke into believing him. It was to test his faith, I guess, to see if he was truly leadership material. I don't know why Ben would risk the destruction of the island, but he's crazy, so...

I heard a good theory on this. Ben just automatically dismissed anything Dharma, so he probably didn't care about the button at all, only said he pressed it to gain leverage on Locke. But this is the question why didn't it go off? Well here's another, why would Dharma create a surprise lockdown system that could cut off the crew from the computer? It could be that when the lockdown is triggered the button gets automatically press after the countdown, since automation is unreliable they use it only for the rare instance when lockdown occurs during the last four minutes and no one is there for the computer. Which could explain how Ben saw the hieroglyphs, yet nothing else significant happens.

Also I just found out the finale season will get an extra hour (same number of episodes), bringing the season to 18 hours.

Yea, I heard about that, too. The more Lost I get per season, the happier I'll be. Especially since this is it. So weird to think about, but this is the end of the road...

And I get confused with this because Damon and Carlton said that Ben never knew about the hatch, even when Des was there for a while by himself. I guess that Ben could've acted on faith too, pressed the buttons, and told Locke otherwise? Who knows.

Well that's odd considering Pablo's flash back had him seeing Ben and Juliet at the Pearl watching them on video. Who knows.

At that point, hadn't Ben already spent time there?
From Lostpedia
[Paulo] hears a noise and peeks through the bathroom door. Ben and Juliet enter, thinking the door was left open by Tom. Ben tells Juliet to have Tom cover the Hatch with the plane. They tune the monitor station to the Swan video feed, which displays Jack. Upon seeing him, Juliet asks, "Is that him? Shephard?" Ben says he will recruit Jack by exploiting his emotional investments. Juliet asks if this means they'll grab Ford and Austen too. Ben replies that they'll get Michael to bring them to the Others. They leave, Ben commanding Juliet to "tell Tom to cover up the station with the plane",
Now I'm trying to place this in the timeline but it's tough. But Lostpedia has this happening on Day 49, while Ben being captured happened on Day 58. So Ben had some knowledge of the Swan, maybe not the exact location or purpose, but that it exist. I can see the writers being confused since the Expose episode was written more on the spot to get rid of Nikki and Paulo.
Who is Pablo?

On a semi-related note, "Who is Pablo" sounds like a perfect name for an off-beat comedy starring Jon Heder.

Oops, sorry. Paulo. You know that okay character that was killed off becuase Nikki was such an annoying ***** from the get go.

well, if Ben says they will have Michael bring Jack, Kate, and Sawyer back then it must take place after Michael was captured but before Ben was captured

those two were Cannon fodder from day one. They introduced them in season three so they could kill them in the exposee filler episode

and about the lockdown... I assumed it was in case of a system failure, but that Radzinsky had hot wired it so now it didn't work like it was supposed to.

but my original question was just me wondering why Flocke wanted the button pushed
