I researched one of the films in your timeline and learned that it is part of a trilogy. The films — Strictly Ballroom, William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet, and Moulin Rouge! — are known as 'The Red Curtain Trilogy.'

What's the connection between Annapolis and F&F?

They both feature characters from Better Luck Tomorrow.
Annapolis also features Tyrese Gibson, Jim Parrack, Brian Goodman, Jordana Brewster, McCaleb Burnett, Wilmer Calderon, Lasco Atkins and Zachery Ty Bryan etc. playing different characters, so I don't think it fits in the F&F universe. Maybe a branched timeline :)

Actors can play multiple characters in the same universe. Tarratinoverse, View Askewniverse, MCU, Kingsman, etc.

"BA: Now the character name that you changed it to, wasnt that the name of your character in Better Luck Tomorrow?

RF: [laughs] That was sort of an inside joke. I cant believe you picked up on that. I was sworn to secrecy that I wouldnt say it but you know what, it was funny because we were sitting around going how funny would it be if Daric Loo got away with murder from Better Luck Tomorrow and where did he go to college? He went to the naval academy. Inside joke. Different characters though. My character Loo in Annapolis doesnt have psychopathic homicidal tendencies."

I saw that. It was later confirmed otherwise. I believe on the first few pages of Timeline Discussions you can find it.

Of all the characters from Better Luck Tomorrow, why Han to bring to the Fast & Furious world?
"It just felt appropriate you know, and the rooftop scene really is, eh, is the connection scene to Better Luck Tomorrow you know, and it's just something that felt very organic, erm, if you actually watch Annapolis, the Roger Fan character actually went to annapolis so we had like, we were gonna work on all the characters somewhere-somewhere in all my films."

You see, with that logic, Argylle is a branched timeline to Kingsman because Sam Jackson plays a different guy. I'm not even going to bother listing all of Sam Jackson's characters in Tarratino films, or Ben Affleck in the View Askewniverse, or the MCU reusing actors. I don't agree with the interpretation that using the same actor for a different character means that it can't be the same universe.

I doubt the F&F franchise's other directors/writers/ producers knew about it. I guess I can accept Annapolis continues from Better Luck Tomorrow, but I don't think that necessarily makes Lin's navy boxing movie canon to F&F.

Isn't it just redundant to separate it from F&F but not Better Luck Tomorrow? That seems massively redundant. Let me repeat, actors can play multiple characters in the same universe. If you disagree with this sentiment, then that conflicts with many other pieces of fiction. Since that is possible, you have to prove that actors can't play multiple characters. Since they can and have and will continue to do so, Annapolis being canon to Better Luck Tomorrow makes it canon to Fast & Furious, as that is far less convoluted than having a separate continuation when the director simply implies one Better Luck Tomorrow universe where his character's stories are continued in other movies.
