1922@BMarrow which version of Nosferatu is set in your Slasherverse timeline?
A mix of both I guessWait what does that mean for the 1979 version, would they be considered variants of the Dracula characters or Nosferatu characters?
I always thought that variants were related to each other, so the 1979 version would make them half siblings to each otherA mix of both I guess
Dagon is canon to the Miskatonic-Verse. The only other Stuart Gordon Lovecraft film that might be connected is Castle Freak, potentially."If you listen very closely in the mix, in the background, you might hear someone being referenced in the background. That was one of the things that I was so excited about with this, was to be able to open up this Miskatonic-verse. Before I knew that Stephen King was bringing everybody together in Castle Rock Lovecraft was doing that in Arkham, and he was doing that at Miskatonic, and he was having all these characters kind of passing each other... There are a lot of connections throughout this film that are connecting us to Re-Animator and From Beyond and King Of The Ants and a little bit of Dagon. We're trying to bring it all there so that hopefully if other people dig what we're doing, that they can contribute to that Miskatonic-verse as well."
Is it possible that the time displaced Herbert West then experienced the events of the original stories?Necronomicon (because of Brian Yuzna and Jeffrey Combs) and Castle Freak, now that I think about it. Neither are confirmed though. I feel like Castle Freak is silently implied though.
Necronomicon actually works with The Army of Darkness versus Re-Animator: Necronomicon Rising #5. In that comic, West gets sent back in time to 1928 where he meets H.P. Lovecraft. Necronomicon's frame story takes place in the late 1930s, with H.P. Lovecraft having written stories based on future visions, something like that. Maybe the time-displaced Herbert West got him on track.
Possibly. Maybe the narrator of the story was Lovecraft himself. Is it possible that the time displaced Herbert West then experienced the events of the original stories?
Nani?Scratch that, impossible.
Are their stories set after 1928?Scratch that, impossible. The original story takes place pre-1928.
Is it possible that he went further back in time after the story?Scratch that, impossible. The original story takes place pre-1928.
Joe Lynch is active on BlueSky, you could always just ask him what adaptations he considers canon to Suitable FleshThis, too, is a Stuart Gordon Lovecraft adaptation that could, in theory, be canon based on Joe Lynch's implications of Suitable Flesh taking place in the world of Stuart Gordon and Dennis Paoli's film adaptations. It references Miskatonic, but I think it probably has a different logo than in Re-Animator.H. P. Lovecraft's Dreams in the Witch-House - Wikipedia
