Green Lantern series discussion (Spoilers!)

Man, which lantern corps would YOU be in.

I bet I would be in the... I dont know. now i cant decide.

I remember when the different Corps were first revealed, there was an assload of threads on 4chan's comic board asking this question, and asking which fictional characters would be in which Corps. Man, some of the choices were out there.

I'm not gonna bull**** and try to be all caring or hype myself up as something or not: I'd probably be a Red Lantern or an Orange Lantern. I'm angry and I'm greedy.

But then again, I do have a lot of hope in me, so I won't rule out being a Blue Lantern. Hell, maybe even an Indigo Lantern; I have a lot of compassion.

I definitely wouldn't be a Violet Lantern, though.

I have thought about this.

I would probably be a Red Lantern. I do have lots of rage.

But I have been told I can be too compassionate, so maybe Indigo.

INDIGO AND VIOLET OCCUPY THE SAME WAVELENGTH OF COLOR!

That annoys me to no end, people who think they are different colors......

I'd be whatever the **** I'd want to be. GRAHHHH

Love and Compassion are almost the same thing, but isn't.

After seeing the Blue Lanterns in action, I have no idea how the Indigo Lanterns will work. Originally it seemed like the Indigo Lanterns would be the helpful monks and Blue Lanterns would be hopeful ****-kickers. But now the Blue Lanterns are like helpful monks, so what the hell's the point of the Indigos?

I have a feeling the Indigos and the Oranges will be the least seen of all the Corps, as they haven't even shown them beyond like a panel or two so far.

I don't even think we have seen hints of an Indigo really at all yet.

Well i heard a theory that
black mercy
from green lantern corps arc could be
the violet guardian or something to do with that corps because of the speech bubbles being in purple

But that is only a fan theory

This comic is superb. I love it. I can't fault it at all. Geoff Johns continues to impress me. It's a shame he can't write every DC character... or can he? Prepare the clones!

In Blackest Night is going to be the coolest thing ever.

I'm a little behind because I don't read this monthly but I just (finally) started Sinestro Wars and I love it. It's easy to follow even though I've never read a GL book before.

I want to get all of the books stating with Rebirth but I want the premiere hardcovers and they are kind of hard to find. I might have to wait until Wizard World Chicago.

The Rebirth Hardcover is a bit pricey...

But the rest seem to be still in print, or used but for $10-15

Vol. 1 - No Fear
Vol. 2 - Revenge of the Green Lanterns
Vol. 3 - Wanted: Hal Jordan
Sinestro Corps War - Vol. 1
Sinestro Corps War - Vol. 2
Sinestro Corps War - Tales of the Sinestro Corps
GL: Secret Origin
GL: Rage of the Red Lanterns (Released early July)

If you start picking up monthly in March with the beginning of the Agent Orange storyline, you'll be fully caught up when the final Hardcover comes out in July.

I think the green lantern corps are probably worth reading too. They're not worth reading on their own, but they're pretty good accompniament to the green lantern series proper.

I only read Recharge and the Dave Gibbons stuff up to Sinestro Corps, but i think it was taken over by Sterling Gates and then Peter Tomasi who are both pretty decent so i will get round to reading those issues at some point.

Cool - thanks.

I only have Sinestro Corps War Vol. 1 but that does collect issues from Green Lantern Corps. The others don't?

The Sinestro Corps (both volumes) do, the Green Lantern trades don't.

You don't need it for Green Lantern, especially if you are just collecting for Geoff John written work. Then you would only need the first volume, which was co-written by Johns.

Basically it's Hal Jordan adventures in Green Lantern with some GL guest stars, the other Lanterns in GL Corps, which is a rotating roster usually having one or two of the Human GLs, Sodom Yat and then others.

This doesn't really belong here but there's no other thread for it - in that Solomon Grundy Faces of Evil oneshot, it ends with him being contacted by the Phantom Stranger and Alan Scott. They tell him a black night or something is coming and Grundy cannot be involved.

Foreshadowing. Solomon Grundy as a Black Lantern would be scary.

Wow. That's a cool idea.

I just got the Rebirth TPB and will be starting it shortly. I finished Sinestro Corps war and REALLY liked it. I'm looking forward to Blackest Night.
