Dreamcasting # 27: The Malibu Ultraverse

jesus man, flip out.
it's not about any ourchair points first of all, second of all, it was just a joke, not a personal attack, third of all, it IS funny that you cast purefoy all the time (and you do), fourth of all take a joke, no one's gonna appreciate you unless you can laugh at yourself- take the constant "who are you?" comments i get from the likes of Mole (MOLE, for chrissakes! haha ) and general lack of respect i get around here- we've all made it into a joke. lighten up, man.

also, you "casting rupaul" was supposed to be ironic. guess i messed that up.

in summary, chill out man! Life is too short to get angry so easily

I didn't say I don't cast Purefoy all the time (I do). And you say that I can't take a joke....When I was the first one to make fun of my casting Purefoy all the time (remember that Pride of Baghdad cast? yeah). It's funny at first, but you dragged it out over two threads and it gets to be not funny anymore.

darn, youre probably right, ill make sure to check who started recognizing a trend next time.

and it thought it was funny. mostly because of rupaul. because of the irony, and because,

Come ON!

My cast is awesome (ok it most likely sucks but still)

Thank you Bluebeast. What exactly did you like about it?

Well Iike the fact that you cast actors who would logically show up in a sci fi mini series. And the main part is that most of your actors fit the description of who they're supposed to be. I like that about it.

And I liked what you did with yours Mole.

It was tough finding actors that would logically show up in a TV Deal like this.

And Sullivan came in a moment of brilliance.

Hopefully, others see that in the cast.

I love those moments where you're stuck on a character for so long and then the perfect fit pops into your head.

Oh, Were we meant to make this in to tv series? I didn't know. It did say so I assumed movie.

It's not a requirement. Houde just went that route. You were, however, supposed to in my last round though.

I did on yours, I used tv people. But this just confused me but that's cool thanks.

I've never read the comics, but I'll give this a shot.

Tom Hawke/Hardcase - Rusty Joiner

Kevin Green - Kyle Gallner
I didn't even notice that they have the same initials until now. That wasn't intentional. Kyle Gallner just looks like a Kevin Green. He's a little old for the part, but....

Prime - Anthony Head
I only chose him because he bears a faint resemblance to Kyle Gallner. I think he could beef up a little (I saw a picture of him from Repo! The Genetic Opera, and he looks buff enough). And ironically, it says transvestite on this image. Woo-hoo.

Lukasz - Rufus Sewell
I'm not sure what nationality Lukasz is supposed to be, so I'm going with medeival English.

Eden Blake/Mantra - Eva Green
For Lukasz's female form, I wanted an English female who at least had the same hair color. Eva Green just happens to also look really weird, and she can pull off the dirty, transvestiteness.

Jimmy Ruiz/Prototype - Diego Luna

Alec Swan/Firearm - Kevin McKidd
Orangish-reddish hair? Check. Badassicity? Check. UKianicity? Check.

Michael Rafani/Plug -
I honestly don't know for this one.

Rafferty - Richard E. Grant
Rafferty's picture reminded me of Richard E. Grant as Seward in Coppola's Dracula.

Shouldn't Kevin be a boy?

Kevin Green - Dakota Fanning
She looks like she's about 5 years old. She could pull off a 13 year old also.

Kevin can be a girl's name also. My sister's name is Kevin.

darn, youre probably right, ill make sure to check who started recognizing a trend next time.

Also, in the mixed up words of George Lucas, "He's my Bobby DeNiro" (the actually quote was "I don't want him to become my Bobby DeNiro," referring to George Lucas' often casting of Harrison Ford and also Robert DeNiro being a regular of Martin Scorcese flicks).

But ourchairs description on front page says

Kevin Green, a 13-year old nobody kid can explode into a pile of slime that transforms him into the strongest ultrahuman alive.

I'm with Mole on this one. I'm just not sure how it would go having a little girl turning into Mr. T.

Don't worry about it though Langsta, I made the exact same mistake (casting wrong sex) in another dreamcasting thread

I was just joking. I was just seeing if that would get any laughs. Apparently not. I'll change it back to my original castings.
