Dexter Series Discussion *Spoilers*

Yea, the human trafficking thing came up because Lumen asked Dex if he was going to "sell her".
I completely forgot about that line, you're right. Could be that after all. If it does turn out to be that, should be interesting to see how it all unfolds.

It's possible Quinn could end up blackmailing Dexter. That would fit his character a lot. I dunno; there's a part of him that's very amoral and crooked, but as he said to Debra, "I'm no good for you." There's a part of him that's also got a lot of integrity.

Hmm.

He would definitely try to find a way to get out of it, that's for sure. He would maybe agree to it, but it would only be so he could get back at Quinn.

Another solid episode.

I really liked the father/son bonding going on. The scenes with the rainbow parachute reminded me how clever this show can be sometimes with how they can make subtle suggestions about a character's dark side as they interact with other people. Harrison just sitting there smiling while all the other babies were crying really made me think that this boy was his father's son. Nice touch.

Dexter being back at work and being closer to his surrogate family of co-workers is probably foreshadowing for **** eventually hitting the fan by the end of this season. I also liked the tension between Dexter and Quinn. "I don't want my son anywhere near Quinn". Cool.

Lumen is also keeping it interesting. She is a culmination of Rita, Miguel, and Lila it seems like. I think Dexter trying to help her out the honest way is an interesting turn for his character. He recognizes his dark passenger as a detriment. She is also keeping Dexter from thinking clearing -- almost killing that guy with an ankle bracelet was another great scene where Dex lost his ****.

Quinn gets in touch with Robocop and puts him on Dexter's trail. This season is going to be intense, especially judging from the previews for next week.

Peter Weller following Dexter is the only bit I'm interested in.

Surprised no one has commented on this past episode of Dex. By far the episode with the most "WTF" moments...

The relationship between Lumen and Dexter is blossoming, not so oddly enough over the fact that Lumen killed someone (or so she thought). I especially liked the end when Dexter found Lumen in the bath tub where Rita died and it took him back to that moment. This season is definitely slower than last but I think it's the perfect way to follow such an intense ride with the Trinity Killer.

I do but it's not interesting enough to talk about every week. I have enjoyed the second half of the season more than the first though.

Yea.

I sort of feel like they have neutered Dexter's character a bit with the inclusion of Lumen. He's more sympathetic, more human. I guess it's progression in a sense, but Dexter needs to return to the aggressive serial killer hunter of old. If Lumen does get axed at the end of the season, he most likely will.

Also. Jordan Chase. I wish he were brought into the season earlier. He's great. I am definitely looking forward to getting to know his dark passenger as well. Definitely the epitome of a wolf in sheep's clothing.

I'm loving it. DEXTER is the same thing every year. Slow build up with very little happening and then suddenly, WHAM and now I'm super-definitely convinced that everyone will discover Dexter is a serial killer and argh I don't know what will happen I am so tense.

Every year they do this.

Every. Year.

At some point you'd think, "Meh, I'm used to it now" but I'm totally not. They keep getting it to work. The Ice Truck Killer, then Doakes, then Miguel, then Trinity and Rita, and now Lumen, Chase, and Liddy.

It's the dread this show has for its last two episodes each season; that's why it's successful, why people come back every year, and why the first eight episodes have little to talk about because it's all just set-up for the big finale and you just don't know where the hell this thing is going to go.

Wonderful stuff.

I think you're right about that Bass. There's not much to go on during the season but as it winds down you're head is spinning... Until **** hits the fan at the end of the season.

This season has been really tense at times and I think Dexter is losing his ****. I thought he'd be more tidy after losing Rita but he's getting more out of control than ever before. I like how he is being careless now. He usually is running circles around Miami Metro but this time around they are only a few paces around him. It's going to be a great end to a great season.

I really like Lumen and I don't want her to be killed off but the writers always kill the guest stars!

There's something I don't trust about Lumen. Even after she bedded Dex, there's still something that's not right. Jordan might be brainwashing her. His knowledge of Dexter and Lumen is odd. You've got to ask, where is he getting his information from?

What special info are you referring to? It all seemed fine to me.

Also - I think Lumen will end up going to jail for the murders. Or not. There's still two episodes left. I DON'T KNOW!

The scene with Jordan and Emily was fishy to me. I just didn't know what to think about Jordan, Emily, OR Lumen after that. He may have complicated relationships with all of his victims and not just Emily. I don't have any idea what the nature of the relationships could really be... And maybe I'm thinking about this too much... But Lumen being alive as well as his FIRST victim being alive is very interesting. Who knows though.

And forget Lumen, I'd love to see Jordan in another season. That scene where Dexter was taking the DNA sample from him and threatened him was so intense.
