(Defunct thread)

I don't know if you already said it somewhere but Wikipedia states that Pennyworth is also a prequel to the V for Vendetta movie

o_O

Or maybe I misunderstood?

You both misunderstand. Pennyworth is leading to the version of London seen in V for Vendetta, but not necessarily the movie or comic versions. It's essentially what Gotham was to Batman, but for V for Vendetta.

There is no V for Vendetta TV show releasing. The comic book doesn't fit in the Gotham timeline because of what it suggests of the state of the world. The movie is set in something like 2026, so it doesn't make sense that the Guy Fawkes masks are being used here and that (what I assume is) V appears in this long before the events of the movie. Unless V has slowed aging. I don't remember if they said how long ago that he got his powers, but they keep his backstory mostly vague.

Essentially, V for Vendetta isn't canon as far as we know, but Pennyworth is a "prequel" to a version of V for Vendetta.

"We end up on the streets of Gotham," the actor teased during an NYCC roundtable press conference attended by SYFY WIRE. "It's a really cool moment in the back half of the episodes and we were using the sets of The Batman. It was filming at the same time as we were at Warner Bros."

The set in question is the dreary and rain-soaked street exterior surrounding the diner where Paul Dano's Riddler is finally taken into custody. "We were on that set and that whole street for a major story point for our show," Aldridge remembered. "So that was a cool little moment that kind of like joins those worlds together. Because everyone's always like, 'Oh, do you feel like you're playing the father of Robert Pattinson's Batman?' I don't really because the worlds are so very, very, very, very different."

"There's all sorts going on in this season," echoed Jack Bannon, who plays the suave Mr. Pennyworth, going on to tease a giant step toward a world inhabited by the Caped Crusader. "We visit Gotham, there's an early version of Clayface, and V for Vendetta is in there as well."

I suppose this would be a different version to the Basil Karlo iteration of Clayface, since that version appeared on Gotham. V for Vendetta confirmed, whatever that means for the show.

Definitely not the Reevesverse.

Okay so either Wikipedia is extremely wrong or they scrapped the series for V for Vendetta cause it says this on Wikipedia "On October 4, 2017, it was announced that Channel 4 was developing a television series based on the V for Vendetta comic book, which ultimately entered development hell.[79] On July 29, 2019, the day following the series premiere of Pennyworth, previously presented ostensibly as solely a direct prequel to Fox series Gotham(2014–2019),[80][81] series co-showrunner Danny Cannon confirmed that Pennyworth would also serve as a loose prequel to V for Vendetta" and it also states that there was gonna be 3 seasons for V for Vendetta.

Wikipedia can be edited by anyone.

Gotham and Pennyworth are the only officially shared shows in ...whatever timeline/Earth this is.

Question: Should I bump up the years in Pennyworth by two years since HBO Max's s3 synopsis said "1972"?

It's saying that the V for Vendetta TV show announced in 2017 entered development hell. As in, it's never going to release and it is essentially cancelled. It is completely unrelated to Pennyworth. It's just that they're both TV shows so they're in the same section. The "three seasons" is referring to Pennyworth.

There is nothing wrong with wikipedia. Granted, it shouldn't be linked with the movie page, but other than that it is accurate.

Jack, the showrunners have talked about a V For Vendetta connection and you could see some thematic similarities early on. Now we're seeing people with Guy Fawkes masks and stuff and so much disarray going on within England. What do you like most about this side element to the show?

Bannon:
Well, I think something that we've always done quite well is pulling in villains and people from real life. From literature, from other universes or other things. It's been a lot of fun watching this melting pot of 70s London, of weird and wonderful characters, really.

Doom Patrol season 4 takes place "over a year" after season 3, according to the Bureau of Normalcy scientist.

EDIT: Might also be a flashback to the creation of "the Butts".
EDIT2: Nope, it's a flashback. That quirky dimwit General who shot himself rather than face the Butts in season 1 is there munching on a cheeseburger.

The Wayne Manor from Gotham at 1:22.

Good. Now explain the Lucius Fox inconsistency.

My personal head canon: Lucius Fox Sr.
And he had a kid without his knowledge (Lucius Fox Jr.) which he would potentially discover at some point.
Or despite not being married has or had a relationship we don't know about yet.

Why is there such a long time gap between A Bitter Pill To Swallow and The Son of Gotham?

To accommodate for the "Friday. The 27th." (October) line in the season 3 episode "Red Queen" and the passage of time between it and "The Son of Gotham".

Hold up, I'll looking at my personal (Google Docs) timeline. Apparently I adjusted this at some point and forgot to adjust here.
Bear with me.
