I like how I can fail to catch up on Daredevil, yet I go into this thread and discover that the more things change for Matt Murdock, the more they stay the same.

I'm not sure what you mean. Like the writers keep telling the same story/stories?

Brubaker's run ended with Matt Murdock deciding to lead The Hand to stop the merging of evil that the Kingpin leading The Hand would create. Kingpin and Lady Bullseye are thrown out and Master Izo continues to be mischievous, apparently escaping The Hand over 100 years ago, training Stick and watching over Matt Murdock after the initial accident. Daredevil owns The Owl and rescues Dakota. Black Tarantula turns out to be Izo's man inside The Hand, saves Foggy, kills a bunch of ninjas and then helps White Tiger. Now the two of them work for Murdock in The Hand.

Decent ending but a bit disappointing, compared to some of the other stories Brubaker has done.

The preview for Daredevil: The List did nothing for me though. I hope Diggle's run will be better. :(

I thought it was awesome and I think it's a really interesting new direction for DD. As for Diggle, I liked The Losers and I'm digging his current Thunderbolts so I'm excited.

I just don't want Norman Osborn in yet another comic I'm reading. :(

#501...this is all wrong. I'm not talking about sacrificing Izo (obviously that's misdirectrion)...Matt just seems to be written wrong. I can't put my finger on it exactly.

Also, Foggy distrust of Matt is out of place too. It's uncharacteristic.

So does Daredevil feel like its moved into its Endgame for anyone else? This storyline feels very final to me. While I know that they won't cancel the book or anything permenent it just feels like the end to me. When Daredevil and the hand ends I might be done. I just can't see anything after it.

Odds are someone withing The Hand will seize it away from him and make him a marked man or something, it could be a ways off though.

I'm a couple issues behind so I don't know specifically what you're talking about, but I have felt like this numerous times during the Bendis and (to a lesser extent) Brubaker runs. There were a bunch of times during Bendis's run that I had no idea how he would fix or come out of things, and I loved it.

I'm not into Diggle's run as much as I was Bendis or Brubaker but it's still pretty compelling stuff.

There have been a number of times where we've seen Matt start to lose himself...it looks like that's what is happening now, but on another level. We now know he's being played by the other Hand leaders (and possibly Fisk) and he's totally oblivious to it (or so it seems). It's an interesting take.

I mean, imprisoning the HAMMER soldiers...sheesh. That's pretty major.

so i was just starting to really get into Daredevil when HTMLcomics seems to have shut down. I want to buy the tpbs, but most of them are out of print. Thankfully Guardian Devil was just rereleased and in July Marvel is releasing Daredevil Ultimate collection by Bendis and Maleev Book One. So I'm going to get that too. Now If they'd just rerelease Parts of a Hole...

i like that they've been releasing these ultimate collections. I just ordered the first three ASM by JMS Ultimate collections. and now I'm pumped for the Bendis Daredevil. I never really paid much attention to Daredevil, but the stuff is really good!

Yeah, it's much easier than buying the insanely expensive and rare omnibiis or trying to compile 8+ TPBs. I've got all of Morrison's New X-Men in those ultimate collections and they're pretty awesome. I'm looking forward to Bendis's Daredevil and other series.

I love the Omnibus editions. I have all of the Daredevil books.

I'm also reading Miller's run right now. It's pretty spectacular. As soon as David Michelinie left and Miller took over the scripting the book improved by leaps and bounds. And Michelinie wasn't doing a bad job by any means.

So, I've been reading old Daredevil stuff.

As I mentioned before, Miller's Daredevil run is some of the best comics I've ever read. It's fantastic. But then he left and Denny O'Neill took over and it's pretty terrible. I'm currently reading an arc where DD is fighting a chief from Africa who is decended from a group of British traders that got stranded in Africa back in the 1700s. It's awful. Blech

in other DD news, I also read Daredevil: Yellow just recently. It's okay, but doesn't really fit the tone of DD. It takes place right after Kevin Smith's run on DD, where he killed of Karen Page and DD is writing her a letter about his early career and how they first got to know each other. It's really almost exactly the same as Spider-Man: Blue (which I love).

I'm guessing that Hulk: Grey is Bruce Banner writing a letter to Betty Ross after she died.
