...And Cloverfield.
So.
G4's coverage at Comic Con was on and I decided to tune in to this for a bit... I had, of course, heard all of the good stuff from Newsarama (or here) already, but decided it'd be something to watch. Whatever.
There were three guys that were discussing Abrams. One of the guys was on the fence about him, the other was a real downer, and the host was just playing the devil's advocate a bit. Anyway, they discussed Abrams doing Star Trek and arrived at his inability to really pull out a movie... Saying that, on the scale of things he's done so far, MI:3 was like watching a television show and, the guy went on to say, that he didn't expect Star Trek to be any different.
Finally, Cloverfield came on. The guys were saying that, from the preview, they didn't think it was going to be anything more than a television show either...
Whatever.
They are geeks.
Abrams has said that it's his intention to create the American Godzilla... To have Americans into monster classics. Sounds like a fun enough idea.
