Still, I think the xmen should have gotten involved. playing at a standstill just doesn't seem to be a good move. Like switzerland or something. Bishops position confuses me too. i thought something like this is what ruins his future. And how did he get papers to be in the police and all that.

he said something about "policing ourselves now, so they won't police us later"

Time for the X-geek to step in.

Ok, first: This doesn't affect the X-Men as much as the rest of the superhero world because they're already registered with the government. If you take a look at handbooks, you'll see that they're identities are known by government officials.

Second, this isn't what ruined Bishop's future. Well, not this specifically, but not a situation like this. The whole problem with CW, is the reason why Bishop became a part of the X.S.E. To help prevent problems and all that good stuff.

Bishop's been a cop for a while, and you can see more of that in the book he was in which I suddenly can't think of. I didn't read it, but I knew of it.

Cool preview, too.

Another reason mutants shouldn't be involved is because carelessly walking into a war with heavy hitters and risking your life when you're basically an endangered species is pretty dumb.
Exactly, which I think was part of Emma's reasons to Tony why they were staying out.

An image that wasn't part of N-Rama's preview:

Now, why would Hill be looking at colorits.net, marvel.com and other sites on the job?

Civil War #7 review at Newsaram

I'll be honest. My feelings on Civil War have been decidedly mixed. I thought that the whole enterprise opened very strongly, with some resonant images and strong writing (particularly the scene where an angry Captain America takes it out with S.H.I.E.L.D. in the first issue). As the story went on, I thought that issues five and six dipped, struggling under the weight of too many tie-ins and one too many bits that occurred in medias res with the rest of the scene happening in another book. That leaves the final issue to help tie up the package and shape my feelings on the event as a whole.

In terms of drawing things to a fitting close, this issue succeeds admirably. Obviously, part of the burden of this story was to pit hero against hero while still keeping essentially everyone as heroes at the end. This issue needed to give fans a big action blow-out while delivering on the basic theme and resolving, to some degree, the legal and ethical quagmire that consumed the Marvel Universe and its heroes.

So did anyone get it yet?

I did, and I liked it. While I still think that issues 4, 5, and 6 sucked pretty badly, and there are several stupid twists throughout the series...

This was the only way it could have ended without villianizing a number of heroes.

Oh, and the art is the most phenomenal of the entire series. Really, worth the price of admission alone.

#7 - Summary

Classic Millar Big Battle Scene.

Starts of in the Negative Zone prison. Commander Hill tries to trap all the participants in the prison but Cloak/Dagger arrive with Black Panther. They sabotage the countdown but it looks like they're still gonna be trapped. Dagger tells Cloak to teleport everyone back to the right universe. He does......but ends up opening his cloak high above the Baxter Building.

Everyone falls. Flyers catch those who can't fly and the battle continues on the ground. Each person gets their own little chance to shine. The Thunderbolts gang up on Cap and begin to beat his ***. Then all of a sudden Namor shows up with his army and levels the playing field. But then all of a sudden Clor shows up with some random heroes. The battle continues.

Iron Man and Cap finally find each other thru the madness and start brawling.

Hercules destroys Clor.

Ben Grimm returns.

Taskmaster is about to shoot Sue in the back with a gun, but Reed stretches out front of the bullet and saves Sue. Sue crushes TM with a force field.

Cap and Tony are still fighting and Cap finally gets the upperhand. Tony asks for him to finish it and all of a sudden cops, firefighters and EMTs tackle Cap. Cap pleads with them to let him go and that he doesn't want to hurt them. They scoff.

Cap looks around at all the destruction he and everyone else has caused and comes to the realization that he was wrong. He takes off his mask and surrenders.

Then we get the aftermath shots narrated by Reed in a letter to his wife.

In the shots we see Punisher pick up Cap's mask. Cap's in jail. Reed goes on about how the Initiative is in effect. A super team for each state. Some heroes fled for Canada and other countries in search of crimefighting in its heyday. A few heroes still stay loyal to Cap and remain underground.

Reed begs Sue to come back. She does.....but not in the romantic way. More in the "I'm back but we got a LOT of therapy to do" kinda way.

We then see Tony giving that woman who spit in his face in #1 a tour of SHIELD HQ. He is now the boss and orders to Hill to get him some coffee. This does not sit well with her. During the tour he tells the woman that the prison was called 42 because it was #42 in the list ideas Reed, Tony and other geniuses had that night after the Stamford events. He tells her that cleaning up SHIELD is #43. He then assures her that everything is gonna change for the better and the best is yet to come.

The end....

The issue was good. The ending was what I expected and not what I expected all in one.

4/5.

I'm gonna go back and reread all of them in one sitting to get a better idea on my thoughts overall for the event.

Opinions to follow......

I liked it up to the point where Cap just goes French on everyone. I mean it's not something he shouldn't have thought about before. The moment the fight was taken into the city it would've been better if someone said "we have to move this elsewhere." But no they all acted like children. I was sort of disappointed. I understand that the core Civil War story needed to end and wouldn't provide too much closure but I felt this was pretty cheap. The fight was awesome though. And Tony bossing Hill around like isn't the reason he's in that position now? What? Hercules taking down Clor was a major highlight. And Reed's astonishment of Spider-Man was a big fanboy moment.

2.5/5

Really loved the series as a whole though.
