24- The Bauer Power Hour series discussion (spoilers)

The ****ing killed Curtis!!!!! DAMMIT!!!! It's because he's black isn't it. Everyone black dies on the show.

David Palmer
Sherri Palmer
Curtis Manning

By the end of this season Wayne Palmer, his sister, and her boyfriend will all be dead. Curse you Jack Bauer! The only thing deadlier to black people besides Jack Bauer is the cholesterol and The Klan! I mean Jack couldn't pop Curtis in the shoulder or leg or something? Maybe since he's such a crackshot---he could've just shot the gun outta Curtis' hand?

Ugh. Boo 24. Boo.

And they killed Kumar!?!?! WTF!?!?! He was gonna be awesome!!!!

And they set off a nuke! Wow....I mean just wow. I mean they've set off a nuke before.....but it was in a secluded area with no casulties. But this.....I mean setting it off in the middle of LA was just....wow.

And there's 4 more. The only thing even better than that was the fact that there's 4 more suitcases. But this is 24. That plot won't even stretch out to the middle of the season. There's gonna be something bigger than this.

So much for the Curtis Manning spin off show. I am bummed that he's dead. I was thinking that maybe he's not dead but Jack is such a good shot it's not likely. Crazy way to end the episode.

Oh wait, a nuke goes off killings thousands right after Curtis goes down  , this season is going to be insane.

With these four episodes, I believe season 5 has officially been topped.

I don't know. Think about it....

Season 5---
  • Kill Michelle and Tony (who was later found to be alive)
  • Kill President Palmer
  • Start some explosive **** at the airport

Season 6---
  • Jack comes back from China POW'd out
  • Random bombings
  • Kill Curtis (who, as much as we love him, was a 3rd string character)

It just doesn't weight up. The nuke was just a catalyst to bring Jack back. But so was the airport incident from last season. #5 is still the topper for now.

And then the Nuke IN THE MIDDLE OF LA.

That topped it for me. Yeah, we had a nuke before, but as it was said, it went off in a secluded area, no casualties but one man who sacrificied his life. This time, there will be a lot more than just one.

And random bombings? Not so much random but done to get Jack Bauer out. And then, Jack was officially thrown into the lion's den without even asking him first (though I understand the situation the U.S. was in). Still, they were basically "Hey Jack, would you mind sacrificing your life for the whole U.S.? Because if not, we'll just either kill you or hurt you enough that we'll just make you anyways."

And not that it's a bad thing, but still. All this for me, season 5 comes to as the second best season ever.

Season 5 was just pure uncut 100% Columbian awesome.

This is shaping up to be just as awesome though. But still.....#5 is the tops for now.

I went to school today, hoping to discuss the awesomeness of the new season with all of my friends and...none of them watched the new epiosodes. They all, apparanty, think that 24 is "stupid".

I'm now busy trying to remeber why I'm friends with them.

Time for new friends.

But in all seriousness....I find that people who don't like 24, dislike it for the fact that they never saw any of the previous seasons. They only caught like 3 episodes of it and since they couldn't follow everything thats going on they just said screw it.

I was like that too. But then I broke down and watched it from the very beginning.

I want to watch 24, but it's always on at awkward times. 11pm on a Saturday? Hell no.

That is pretty late for a show like that. But then again it's an American show on a foreign station. Why wouldn't it be presented later than any local national shows?

I can understand the time slot. It'd be about as natural as Dr.Who or AbFab coming on at 11pm here.

Last night's episode was an improvement on the good-if-not-spectacular opening. I would've given it a 5/5, but because Kal Penn is gone (already?!), along with the uninteresting sideplot with Sandra Palmer, I'm going to have to give Monday night a 4.5/5.

Season 5 was much better in terms of starting off, but the way they did it you could just do that all the time and they were left in a position that needed some poper time to start things, you cant always have major characters killed off in the first five minutes. But the nuke certainly kicked it up a notch.

Speaking of "Kumar", he just had a special guest-star role in Law & Order: SVU today. See, he's not dead!
