Ultimate Mystery Discussion (Return of Captain Marh Vehl)

I liked this issue. I think the problem with the series as a whole is that there are too many characters involved and so you go through a whole issue and feel like nothing happened b/c each of the characters needed a little bit of face time. The first two issues of Ultimate Enemy were the same thing, just with different characters reacting. Bendis should have found a better way to pace this story with so many characters. But I'm pretty sure this will read decently as a trade.

So now that its been confirmed (even though it was obvious from Ult Enemy #1), I'm interested to see what Ultimate Reed's motivations and reasonings for turning to the dark side are. I know he's broken up about the events of Ultimatum, Prof Storm dying, his break-up with Sue, his inability to fix Ben's rocky appearance, etc. While these might be enough to push most characters to a breaking point, I just feel like Reed's too smart for that. Its not that he has some indomitable will, or that he's just too stubborn to turn bad, I just think he's too intelligent for it to make sense even to him. I can't wait to read the internal monologue bubbles or flashbacks/recaps which explain his motivations...I'm sure I'll be rolling my eyes the whole time.

However, I do think an evil Reed could be interesting, at the very least so that the Ult FF have a competent enemy to fight...Ult Doom hasn't been that since he left for the Zombie-verse, then inexplicably returned and set about the events of Ultimatum--which led to him getting his head squished by Ben (really showing your genius level of foresight on that one, Doom!). *sigh*

he gave you his motivation on the last page. Sue has always been a teensy bit smarter than him.

EDIT: by the way, did anyone else notice Luke Cage and Jessica Jones with stroller?

Man, people must be hating this series. It's always the last comic of the week to be scanned and always comes in a terrible quality :(

I know! I think it's quite funny at how we can tell the popularity of a comic by the quality of the copyright infringment. :)

I'd buy them, except they're only sold here a few months late (for reference, the other day I bought a Spider-Man issue and just found out we're still at number #600, although it's a different numbering here and there are more stories per issue, but anyway) and comics are in portuguese which makes every single character sound awkward to me :p

It's the same in the UK, which is why if I want comics I have to go to my specialist comic shop that imports them from the US and other countries.

The one I got had the pages all mixed up too.
