Whoniverse - Viewing Order

Today I learned that a softcore porn film about Zygons is part of an interconnected web of Doctor Who spin-offs that, while not being BBC productions, are canon due to having the license for certain elements and featuring characters and actors from the series, as well as introducing Kate Stewart before she appeared on the series proper.

That's neat...

Oh yeah, that... was a thing that actually happened. Just when you thought Doctor Who spin-offs couldn't get weirder, WHAM!!, a Zygon softcore naughty film exists that surprisingly is also canon.

Wikipedia lists them in a different order, weirdly.

I'd trust Wikipedia over me on that one--the numbering was my best guess based on the Tardis Wiki. I've seen all of the 20th century spin-offs, but haven't gotten to the 21st century stuff yet.

It also has crossovers with non-BBC properties inspired by Doctor Who, such as The Stranger. Weird.

Yeah, I'm intrigued by the fact that here's apparently an episode dealing with a then-future US president from one of the 90s Who novels that ultimately was overwritten by real-life history--interesting idea.

Are you planning to add the Big Finish audiodramas? At least the ones featuring the companions mentioned by the Eighth Doctor in The Night of the Doctor?

No, but I consider all DW spin-off media canon (in some form). Even LEGO Dimensions fits, technically... just don't ask why he's made of plastic. :p

Shalka Doctor is canon now.
I can't believe I watched the whole episode, went to bed, and only realized they'd popped him in after I read the reactions the next day. Amazing. I have theories. Maybe his incomplete Eccleston regeneration was interrupted by an unsuccessful attempt by the Great Intelligence and the Master to corrupt the Doctor, in a last-ditch effort to escape the Time War? (Facilitated by the Toymaker, of course, in his ongoing effort to jigsaw the Doctor's past. ) One that influenced his appearance but not his personality?

Perhaps it was part of the Eccleston regeneration, but he temporarily became Grant before regressing back into Eccleston so it doesn't take up any part of his regeneration cycle. That would explain why the Time Lords are killed off in Alt. 9's backstory since it follows on after the Time War. Probably not though, seems convoluted. Plus, that'd make him the Tenth Doctor so... nah.

tbh, LEGO dimensions has every variant of the respective universes. But doctor who one is the main one (?)
