What Do you Read

I know. I actually already knew most of the food stuff, because let's face it... people like grossing people out. But the tax stuff isn't gross, it's just shameful, like how big eugenics were in the 1930s. It's the stuff nobody wants to talk about because it's an embarrassment to the human race.
Actually what disturbed me most about that book was the extent to which fast food has incorporated itself into the cultural, social and economic fabric of the world... just what they're doing to schools offends me.

Too bad the movie was ****ing crap.

Finished The Dark Tower II: The Drawing of the Three last night. A better read than the first book. The only part I felt dragged was The Lady of the Shadows segment. 4.5/5

Susanna isn't the most interesting character... at least until the last three books.

And the next two books in the series are ****ing awesome.

And Charlie The Choo Choo is the most terrifying children's book that never existed.

I am reading Killing Yourself to Live by some guy from Spin magazine, about a road trip to a lot of the places where rock stars died.

It reads a lot like A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering genius, but while I hated that book, I kind of like this one.

Went to a comic shop yesterday and ended finding a 24 novel book.

It's called "Decalssified: Vanishing Point" written by Marc Cerasini. There are other novels for 24 called:

  • "Decalssified: Operation Hell Gate"
  • "Decalssified: Veto Power"
  • "Decalssified: Trojan Horse"
  • "Decalssified: Cats Claw"

After reading some of VP, It seems it's the 5th book in order, as in it there's a mention back to Operation Hell Gate. Also, in the book-
Christopher Henderson!

The book starts with
someone in South America (an agent of Henderson) who has a device he took from someone he was undercover at. Henderson asks Jack to help bring that device back, and to only take on agent with him. The agent that Jack takes? Tony Almeida. Only Tony doesn't know why Jack is truly coming to South America for. To him, they're only here for search and rescue...

Now reading Richard Posner's The Little Book of Plagiarism.

Also, His Dark Materials trilogy for a magazine article I'm writing.

Oh, and one more thing.

All these stories are classified missions Jack (and others) went on. So a lot of people don't know these things happened.

Right now I'm reading Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, The Dresden Files Book 3: Grave Peril by Jim Butcher, and The Dark Tower III: The Wastelands by Stephen King.

We have to read Pride and Prejudice for English.

I've had it for a few weeks and all I've bothered to read is a sentence.

I'm going to ask my English teacher if I can slit my wrists as an alternative assignment.

Right now, I'm reading 1984.

Bla bla bla, amazing work, bla bla bla, the original dystopia, but more importantly, Big Brother is always described with dark eyes and black hair and a black mustache.

Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

For Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Oceania!

I just pictured him looking like Stalin.

I can't tell if you're actually enjoying the book or not. I thought it blew its already-legendary reputation out of the water.

**** yeah, I'm enjoying the book! It's fantastic! Newspeak is sheer evil genius. So many parts of Oceania society are so familiar in deeply disturbing ways.

Pffft, Stalin. We all know that Borat was sent to America by Minitrue.

I think Ourchair scared her away
Why would I want to scare away anyone who started her stint here at UC with lengthy thoughtful pieces on Reed Richards?

Also 1984 is definitely doubleplusgood. I know they made a movie based on it in 1984... anyone know if the movie was any good?

Be ashamed!
