What Do you Read

I'm about halfway through The Shining. I think Proj didn't like it or something, but it's really good so far. I don't like King's dialogue, though.

I only started reading Stephen King books this year, and the dialogue is far and away the worst part. It's so unnatural.

Yeah, I only noticed when I popped to the supermarket yesterday. I was like.. "PRATCHETT!!!" and immediately texted my mate who is a huge pTerry fan.

I saw it in the bookstore about a month ago guys

Where have you've been?

He use to put out more than this if I remember correctly, but I think he's secretly a machine

How dare you...

I haven't read it yet either, but it feature Moist, and everyone loves Moist

I want another book featuring William deWorde, who was my favorite character

I did eventually finish it and did like it a lot though. Like most of King's novels, it takes too long to actually get into the story, but by the time you do, it's extremely rewarding.

I think I'm going to try and read every Stephen King book in order of publication. I'll probably give up halfway through or skip the worst ones, but I'll try and read the major ones.

I don't know who Moist is, but it's a great name. It makes me feel all pleasant just thinking about it.

Obviously Moist is the titular character of Stephen King's The Moist.

I've read one of Gaiman's short stories books. "M For Magic."

They were all good, but there were some really good ones.

Especially "The Price."

And here I thought nobody noticed that post.

Sometimes I think of "Stephen King's The Moist" as a declarative statement. As in, Stephen King IS The Moist.

I think that is possibly the greatest thing I have ever seen. I'm going to go die now.

I like neil gaiman,of his novels I've read good omens, stardust and neverwhere. And I like his comics (tho I only read the first volume of sandman and didn't see what the fuss was about, I've been meaning to go back and reread it). Anything of his I should particularly avoid or seek out? I want to read american gods and anansi boys.

I just finished reading Issac Asimov's Foundation and am currently reading the sequel. I was really impressed I don't think I've ever read a book that reads like that. It was released in some sort of digest form, so it's collected works but it all follows on (like comics I suppose). But at the end of the first story it skips forward 50 years, it's a very epic story spanning many centuries. It might be my new favourite book.

American Gods is really good. I need to read Anansi Boys and his other novels.

I also couldn't get into Sandman.

Right now I'm reading The Killing Joke by Anthony Horowitz. It's about an actor who hears a joke that offends him, so he tries to track down it's origin. There's also some mysterious organization following his progress, and an Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman is following him.

After this, I'm not sure what to read. I'd like to read some more Stephen King, or even the third book in the Dresden Files, though it seems like my library never has it in. I'd also like to check out Neil Gaiman's The Devil You Know.
