theory: Banner is a psycotic person deep within. When he turns into the Hulk, everything he keeps hidden is unveiled. Banner is actually similar to Hannibal Lecter, in the respect that human flesh is the greatest delicacy, yet he hides this. So instead of the hulk being his demon, it is merely his true personality unleashed, which he embraces willingly.
