Ultimate Spider-Man #100 Discussion (SPOILERS!)

Hello,
Well, I read the issue, and was disappointed by it. The stuff that is interesting, like the resolution to his Kitty/MJ dilemma, how Gwen is alive, Spider-woman, etc wasn't addressed. No offense, but I really didn't care about where Richard has been. The "Tarantula" was pretty cool though. I hope we see him again.
I think Richard is evil..how else would he know just how to mess with Peter's head? He knows Peter hates Nick Fury...boy if he is a villain, Peter is going to be in such a mess. I really hope we don't have to wait till 102 to see what's happened to MJ, I don't think I can take another issue of filler and stalling.

Anyway, I really liked the whole Richard thing but atleast we got a little bit of action from the Tarantula thing.

Hey you...there seems to be action here than on Ultimate-x.
I definately loved the Tarantula..if that is his only appearance it would be a shame.
You know what would be totally amusing? If MJ hooked up with one of the non-deformed not crazy clones. The real Peter would be jealous of himself!

Oh, you mean the Scarlet Spider, if it happens. I really hope that he is real, but that is probably because I never read the original Clone Saga...

Bendis specifically said recently that we'd have no scarlet spider, what a tease!!! in 98, Kaine clearly had blonde hair. Now I feel like a dope because my letter made it into 100, and in it I refer to the "blonde clone". *Sigh* that man could make a profession out of screwing with people's heads!

I believe Bendis has lied before, so who knows what might happen?

He probably does that to hide his plans. Or he changes his mind. I hope he's lying about no Scarlet Spider!! I thought Ben Reilly was the best thing about the old Clone Saga.

I agree, the basic idea of the clone saga was good, Spider-man vs another Spider-man and I heard that Ben Reilly comic when he was traveling for 3 years was good. But it got too out of hand with completely unnessecary twists and I feel this clone saga is going down the same route

And it is getting dragged out, like the original clone saga was. There is a TPB out there called the Lost Years, it chronicles the 5 years of where Ben was..it's quite good. ( Is that what you are describing? ) The quality has been ok so far, but I think that I didn't mind the decompressed storylines so much when we had issues twice a month.

actually we're 4, but i think its going pretty well so far. none of us will truly appreciate it untill we have the whole thing in front of us and we can make connections. i think some people are just disappointed with how long its taking and the questions that seem to be not answered. oh, i saw the solictations for #104 and it says doctor octopus is back? he's behind this? i think i smell osborn somewhere....
 
That's pretty much how I feel. we've seen so many teasers and no answers, and it's been 3 months ( for us ). the last issues have had Peter in about the span of two hours ( his time ). It just feels like it isn't progressing.
Anyways like DarkSpider said, when the whole thing is in front of us, I suppose it'll make plenty of sense.

Yeah, I thought issue 100 felt dragged out.. I mean, did we really need all that Parker backstory, at least in that detail?

Hopefully 101 moves things along a bit.

Yeah, if we see some Spider-woman and Tarantula, with MJ's "Transformation", and Gwen kicking some slayer butt it'll be worth it. I hope it is the real Gwen underneath, and not just Carnage masquerading as Gwen.

wait. are you saying that you'd want Richard Parker bringing Gwen back from the dead!?! like he took her corpse and used the carnage cerum to "cure death"? cus that would definetly make Richard evil. I mean, think of the moral implications. you could live forever, except you wouldn't be human. you wouldn't be you. whenever you get anxious or feel any charged emotion you turn into a genetic beast with no control. who'd want that?!?

I'm pretty sure there is no one "underneath". Ultimate Carnage is not a symboite or a suit that someone wears. It's a living being that changes form.
