Look at the story of the issue. The actual plot.
It is the same beat, repeated four times. Big pink explosion. Big pink explosion. Big pink explosion. Big pink explosion.
Four times.
So the first explosion is shocking. By the time you've got to the fourth, the explosions are predictable, and boring, and 'safe'. The precise opposite of their intent.
