Here is my take on what I currently read...

10. All Star Batman - Huge Frank Miller fan here!
9. Supergirl - New to the, love this book.
8. New Avengers - Bendis, good stuff.
7. Daredevil - Another great Bendis book.
6. Astonishing X-men - I like Whedon.
5. Strangers in Paradise - My guilty pleasure.
4. Supreme Power - Good stuff.
3. Powers - Bendis at his best.
2. Ultimate Fantastic Four - This book got me back into collecting.
1. All Star Superman - This is just darn good storytelling.

Marvel Zombies (Kirkman/Phillips; Marvel). Familiar SUPERHERO zombies.

Walking Dead (Kirkman/Adlard/Moore; Image) (entire #1 online) - CLASSIC zombies - accept no substitutes.

Black Gas (Ellis/Fiumara;Avatar - #1 is out this next week, I think) (previews) - SMART (kinda) zombies.

The Hunger (Torres/DiBari. Issues 1-5 on Speakeasy; trade of 1-8 coming out on Markosia in July) - The hero IS the zombie. (Poor Charlie...)

Sea of Red (Remender/Dwyer; Image) - VAMPIRE PIRATE zombies. And Reality TV prodcuers.

Thank you, I forgot this was my first post. I hope to contribute more if time allows. I am getting back into comics after about 7 years. I know there are no other Ultimate books on this list yet but I'm sure they will make it once I get some more reading done. I have recently scored a full run of Ultimate Spiderman and an almost complete run of Ultimate X-men. I also read the Ultimates 1 last night and it is now on my top 10 list!

If you can find it, I would also recommend the Bogus Dead anthology that predates the current zombie bandwagon. It includes a wide variety of very talented independent comic creators, with a nice mix of all genders/sexualities being represented. Memorable stuff includes an insecure teen zombie girl ("'My undead body is, like, SO embarassing!!!") penned by Ariel Bordeaux, and Megan Kelso reviving pioneering statesman Alexander Hamilton as a zombie, to have a look at the capitalist wasteland that contemporary America has turned into. Good times!

Hmmm... Perhaps all these zombie-related shout-outs deserve to be broken off into a thread of its own?
