Also, is the war actually ongoing? That's an important thing to note. If not, I don't think there's any or much error with Trouble in Tokyo occurring a few years earlier in the same Neo-Tokyo setting from Akira.

Well the war began in the 1980s, so I'm not sure what happens after that. I don't see any signs of WW3 in The Batman, Legion Of Superheroes (21st Century scenes) or Teen Titans that would justify it though.

Not referencing something doesn't mean it isn't happening, and it especially doesn't mean anything if it's not ongoing anymore. I'm sure they didn't mention WW2 or the nuclear bombs on Japan everyday in 1957. Minimal issue, personally.

Edit: It appears WW3 happened in 1988. Sounds like it was a short war.

Is it possible that they are just variants? Some variants are born in different years than others (case in point Peter Parker)

Also, yeah, I've watched Akira. Haven't read the manga though, but I will say that the movie does have a different ending since the manga was still ongoing at the time.

There's also another anime in the works that'll be a more faithful adaptation of the manga, but IDK when it comes out.

I would love to see an Epic NPC Man Timeline (by Viva La Dirt League), including Epic NPC Man, Adventures of Azerim, Tales of the Misfits, Descent into Avernus, Isolation Games, Hero Outage, Nice Day For Fishing, Baelin's Route, D&D Testround, Between Two Turns, Grudge Match PvP, etc.
?

I don't appear to get it
That image is taken from Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo. It depicts characters from Akira, which I figured could suggest that Akira is in the same universe as Teen Titans, thus Earth-2003.

It's regarding whether it's possible that the Akira characters in Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo could be younger versions of the characters depicted in the film.
