Home Alone 4 should really be, probably, the year after Home Alone 2 despite the set dressing and age of Kevin, since it's a sequel to that film.

In my personal opinion:

1990 - Home Alone
1991 - Home Alone 4
1992 - Home Alone 2: Lost in New York
1997 - Home Alone 3
2012 - Home Alone: Holiday Heist
2015 - :.DRYVRS 1x01, "Just Me In The House By Myself"
2015 - Home Alone Wet Bandit Resurfaces and Responds to Kevin MacCalister's Threatening Video
2016 - :.DRYVRS 1x02, "Bob's Direction Home"
2017 - :.DRYVRS 1x03, "I Sing The Brother Electric"
2017 - :.DRYVRS 1x04, "Scare Tactics"
2017 - :.DRYVRS 1x05, "Transfer of Power"
2018 - Home Alone Again with the Google Assistant
2019 - Detective Pikachu
2021 - Home Sweet Home Alone

DRYVRS is basically a webseries that Kevin occasionally appears in, and he's seemingly gone nuts and started offing home invaders, lol. He's back to normal-ish in the Google Assistant advert.

How does Home Alone 4 with all of the early 2000s stuff present in the movie?
Basically... it doesn't, you ignore the crap out of that because it's a Home Alone 2 sequel where they sliding timeline it up to the 2000s, but since that's impossible, I guess the Home Alone universe has 2000s technology in the 1990s and 11 year old Kevin said he was 9. Or not, his age is really fucked up.

In Home Alone, he's 8. In Home Alone 2, set one year later, he's 10. In Home Alone 4, he's 9.

Maybe it's actually:
1990 - Home Alone
1991 - Home Alone 4
1992 - Home Alone 2: Lost in New York

I don't know about that though, I'd have to watch them like that and honestly, from memory, there was something that made me decide I didn't like that idea.

The second one says that the previous one was last year
I mention that.
In Home Alone, he's 8. In Home Alone 2, set one year later, he's 10. In Home Alone 4, he's 9.

Obviously, it's quite difficult to get around these films with no issue. I think that it's best to take the middle ground and say that Kevin was eight in Home Alone, nine in Home Alone 2, and ten in Home Alone 4. That way, his age statements are the closest to reality even if he's wrong in 2 and 4.

Is it possible that Home Alone 4 is an AU?
I suppose, or perhaps in this crazy world there's two kids called Kevin with the same family and associated names that both went up against wet bandits in the same universe (I don't like this one bit, lol), but I think the intent was simply a story about Kevin set after Home Alone 2.

Although some viewers see it as a remake because of the similarity in plot and the absence of two of Kevin's siblings (Jeff and Linnie), Home Alone 4 is meant to be a sequel, evidenced when Kate reminds Kevin that he was left home alone before, as well as when Kevin recognizes Marv as the burglar he met during a previous caper. Some viewers feel that Home Alone 4 better falls between Home Alone and Home Alone 2 rather than after Home Alone 2. If so, the continuity would go like this: In Home Alone, Kate and Peter are together, in Home Alone 4 they break up but get back together at the end, and in Home Alone 2 they are together again. Another reason some viewers feel that Home Alone 4 should fall between Home Alone and Home Alone 2 is that Kevin is 8 years old in Home Alone , 9 years old in Home Alone 4, and 10 years old in Home Alone 2.

Just a note I found someone make.

By the way, Detective Pikachu has a odd joke connection to Home Alone. That might be amusing... let's throw it in the list for a piss take. (Not on a proper timeline though obviously)

Why aren't there Pokemons running around then?
Or does the film take place sometime after all of the Pokemon species have gone extinct for some reason?

Well, they aren't really the same universe. It's just a joke. Filthy Souls was just created in both universes.

Regardless, let's say they are, then just because we don't see something doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Why don't we see Inhumans in the MCU anywhere but in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Inhumans? The X-Men are referenced in Spider-Man: The New Animated Series, but we don't see any mutants in that timeline or the one it spun out of (the Raimiverse).
