I love everything there is to love about this book, but mostly what I love is the complete lack of status quo.

i've noticed all these wiki sites dedicated to the Marvel or DC universes and certain TV shows and what not, but I could never find a wiki or somethin' like a wiki that was dedicated to The Walking Dead, so i made one and it's up for anyone who wants to add content: http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/Walking_Dead_Wiki
I don't know if you've given his other Image ongoing, Invincible, a try, but they both work the same way.I just started reading this - I read through the first 6 issues.
It's really good. I didn't know anything about it going into it other than it had something to do with zombies. I just read the comments from Robert Kirkman in the thread about the upcoming TV show about how it wasn't about blood and guts - I like that about it. It's more relatable, at least as much as it can be when the story is about zombies.

Kirkman plots out a staggering amount of story and then tells some of the most though out comics in the industry. No character is wasted, very little is predictable, and the tension ratchets up long term, as the survivors become more and more stressed/twisted by trauma and loss.
Worth sticking with for the long haul.
There will be blood.
