I was thumbing through a friend of mine's Thor collection. He has one of those uber-hardcovers and it reprints the first couple of dozen of issues in which Thor appeared, y'know, all the old school "Holy Cats!" stuff.
Anyway, there is an issue of Thor, which had been adapted into one of those old 60's Marvel cartoons. Basically, the plot is genius. Loki, punished by Odin, has been trapped inside a tree in Asgard. He cannot escape until someone sheds a tear for him. Well, after being trapped for many years inside this tree, Loki has rudimentary control over it, and when an Asgardian walks past, he bends a twig, and a leaf drops from it and into the Asgardian's eye... which sheds a tear! "EH-AH-AH!" Loki laughs as he is now free. And he takes the Rainbow bridge to Midgard to wreak havoc - Midgard is our EARTH! *shock* *horror* Once there, Loki assumes a mortal disguise and wanders around the streets in mortal garb. Then he starts pushing people into subway trains, and tries to steals Thor's hammer! Which he does and Thor returns to Don Blake! *choke* But Thor returns, kicks Loki's ***, and then takes him back to Asgard for punishment! The world is saved.
Now... if you remember I asked why Gunnar-Loki looked familiar to me. This is because, except for the hat worn in the story above, Loki wears the
same attire as he does in the old school 616 story above.
Isn't that great?!
