The DVD purchase thread

I've had my eye on the Star Wars Trilogy boxset (with both the original theatrical and souped up CGI-versions) for a couple of days, now. I think I'll get it for my brother for his birthday as he only has Empire on DVD.

I just picked up Family Guy Volume 6.

Kinda disheartening to see the number of episodes on each box set get lower and lower with each volume. Volume 1 had about 30 episodes on it; Volume 6 has precisely 12.

Still, once a fan, always a fan. :x

I got the 3-disc Incredible Hulk earlier this week....the third disc is a digital copy to download onto your iPod or iPhone or whatever. The case is pretty groovy, with Hulk-breaking-out-of-box action!

Today I am getting Eureka season 1 set whenever UPS delivers it. I wish it's before work, but I doubt it...

Volume 6 had less because of the Writer's Strike. There would have been a lot more episodes if there wasn't a strike, but because of it, FOX decided to use the others for season 7. I think there would've been around 6-8 episodes or so.

I'm probably going to buy the Iron Man DVD with the metal case, because I let my older brother borrow the DVD I already have, and he hasn't given it back....he never returns my stuff.

Apparently, they released SOLD OUT: A THREEVENING WITH KEVIN SMITH on October 21st, so I'm definitely going to pick that up sometime soon.

My dad got us the Iron Man DVD with the hologram cover showing the three stages of the armour. It's awesome. Haven't seen it in stores since.

I saw Threevening With Kevin Smith on the shelf at HMV yesterday. Hadn't heard about it either.

Why do you keep giving him stuff than?

I picked up Friday Night Lights Season 1 on a mediocre quality bootleg; Superman: Doomsday which bores me so much that I'm probably going to return it and Machine Girl, whose trailer is the greatest thing ever.

Hellboy II on Blu-Ray, with the most awesomest holographic image I've ever seen on the cover. It's Mike Mignola's Hellboy transforming into Ron Perlman's, and there's gotta be at least seven different images packed into that one holograph. Check it out the next time you're at the DVD store.
