Well time to update on this one. Although we are still thousands of miles away....

We decided to get engaged.

So this will be the end of this complaining about life segment of the news :)

So my pastor has gotten fired for no adequately explained reason.

So as I said earlier, my pastor (specifically, my campus minister) is being fired. Now, she is a very nice lady and I'm happy to know her. Now as I said, she's being fired for no good reason, but it's more accurate to say that we're not being told the reason. (Because apparently just because I'm a member of the church that will be affected by this decision, this doesn't entitle me to know the reason why.)

Me and the other people in the congregation are trying to contact the bishop and get him reconsider. Some Facebook petitions, videos, things like that. I just tried to write a carefully-worded and polite letter. While we are at a point where the decision can be taken back, it's not looking likely, but we want to try anyway.

I just got back with a meeting from the board. (Who apparently did not have anything to do with the decision, but will be responsible for picking the replacement.) My pastor's crying, which in turn makes me upset and want to give her a hug. She left early: the board wanted to have a civil discussion with us about the decision. OK, fair enough. Now they're still not telling us the reason she's getting fired. Honestly, I got the impression even they didn't know.

And then they go and piss me off.

They go and tell me that this is all part of God's plan.

**** no.

Now, I believe that God does have a plan and I do believe he sometimes gets involved with Earthly affairs, but not often. I do not believe that he is responsible for everything. I believe in credit where it is due. This was not done by God's hands. He did not appear to the bishop and tell him this needed to happen. This was done by the hands of man, no more, no less. But wait! People will get mad about that! So let's say God did it! After all, he's a great big lightning-crapping diety who's got some great benevolent plan so complicated that ****ing Xanatos couldn't make sense of it! Who would think to be mad at God!

Honestly, I would have much less of a problem with this if they would just ****ing tell me why.

I'm annoyed that Nintendo are releasing a new console next year and we still won't have a proper 3D Pokemon game.
 
So, today, as I picked up my laptop to put it into my bag, I forgot that the external harddrive was plugged in and it dropped onto the floor from the desk.

When I got home, I plugged it in and it worked... until I tried to save something to it and then it just died on me. So now it is in the freezer for the next two hours, and then the fridge over night in the hopes that tomorrow morning it will last long enough for me to be able to transfer stuff off of it.

Yay.
 
My second ferret died last night, as I just woke up to find out. It was the female one of the group. The only "good" thing I can say is she likely died in her sleep as she didn't go through the pain the first one did. But it doesn't help to find her the way I did, though. Now I'm having trouble going back to sleep. :cry:
 
I wish I had a concrete plan for next year that included earning money and developing sufficient experience for some kind of future.

I also wish I had the ambition to make that happen.

On the bright side, the Summer is going really well and my new girlfriend is awesome.

You know, women like money. And guys with money is a plus too. I hope you got a handsome shirt and a winning smile, otherwise.
