I was very disappointed all around by this.
Lay off the ****ing close-ups, Greengrass! The shaky-hand held camera, 5 cuts per second and constant blue-green filter are bad enough, but holy ****, over 90% of this movie involved me wondering what the edges of the characters faces actually look like.
The direction of photography was the single biggest problem with the movie, but even after that, the story and scenes were all just so been-there-done-that. The whole thing could've been a few reels of cut frames from the first two.
All the life's been squeezed out of the characters. In the first movie, I actually liked and cared about Bourne and what happened to him. In this, it's like..... does it matter either way?
Top it all off with a catharical climax that's almost word-for-word with the(much better) one in X2, and you've got the least I've enjoyed a movie this year.
Why pay to see this when I've got Casino Royale, Mission: Impossible III, and The Bourne Identity sitting at the ready on my DVD shelf?
