Well, I loved Street Fighter when I was a kid. We played Championship Edition til our fingers bled. And I played the hell out of Darkstalkers, as well.

But I haven't picked up SF since I was a kid.
I played three and Alpha a few times, but for the most part I was the same.

And I definitely think four is worth picking up.

Well, like I said, everybody uses the same three characters. And you'll probably get curb stomped by a bunch of 12 year olds, but I enjoyed it.

Yeah.... I think I'm gonna pick this up tomorrow.

And then I'll kick your ***.

All of you.

Granted in player matches they will occasionally use other characters. It's in ranked matches where they use Ryu and Ken.

I played it today. It was too short on choices and consequences. Do I want to kick, punch, throw a fireball or juggle an opponent are not valid moral choices.

I knew nobody would get the joke. Bar me from saying RPG jokes. And no, I will not explain it.

With all due seriousness, I enjoyed SF4...when I wasn't getting my butt handed back to me. I shall not mention how many times that occurred.

Man, I dig it. I love the nostalgia. Seeing the characters in 3D with a terrible J-pop version of the SF theme song and terrible taunts ("I owe you my gratitude. Your fists wake up something inside of me!") are just great. I kicked my buddy's *** with Ryu, but now that I'm rocking the single player, I'm getting my ever-loving body rocked.

It's fun, but it will probably take me a minute to get used to the ultra attacks and everything. I'm also not quite sure the ****ty Xbox stick is conducive to the game.

Apparently I am.

I can't figure out how to work the combos where you have to charge the stick one way or another.

hold for two seconds even while punching just to hold you off and then hit forward + punch/kick at the same time. works good when you're in the air so by the time you hit the ground you just hit forward + hit and you spring right into action leaving little time for your opponent to attack.

I must just be retarded, because I still can't make it work. Vega's special, for instance, it says you have to hold it back, then push forward and punch, but I can't make it happen. I've tried doing it outside and in the middle of combos, and I just can't swing it.

Bah. ****ing Street Fighter.

Soul Calibur rocks my socks

though I never really carved out a character to main in that series, despite playing the **** out of 2,3,and 4

so I'm pretty good with all the male characters

yes I'm game-sexist

well, are you just trying to do a basic special or a super arts.

cuz if it's a super arts then you hold back for two seconds then forward backforward + punch/kick. if it's just a basic special then yeah, you is retarded.

Just as I expected, I suck at this game

I can't find a character to stick with, I seem to jump back and forth from Ryu and Vega the most, though I didn't play as any of the unlockable characters (I had it for a week, but only got around to playing it the day after it was due, so I didn't get much time with it)

I only mustered one victory online. Everyone only spams special moves, and I like to string together normal hits. Also I can't get used to not having a block button.

But this was an incredibley well put together game, very well polished, the soundtrack sucked though.

Finally got it on my PC.Amazing game.Amazing gameplay. My first opinion is, Sagat and Chun-Li are veeeery over-powered.Especially Sagat is a noticable threat even with an amateur controlling him.On the other hand Chun-Li is perfect for a bit more experienced player who enjoys close-encounter characters.

I am feeling awful that I couldn't use Ryu and Ken effectively, I loved both since the first they I started playing Street Fighter games (which is like 12 years from now...).

Super Street Fighter IV draws closer to release. I found a video introduction of the 6 additional combatants announced so far. 2 additional characters are expected, but haven't been introduced.

Cody and Guy were two of my favorite characters from Alpha. Which isn't saying a whole lot since most of the Alpha characters sucked so hard. Adon is Sagat light, but since Sagat was so damn good in IV he might be pretty fun to play in this one.

Dee Jay seems to have been improved significantly in the move from II to IV, but T. Hawk has always sucked and will always suck.

Juri looks cool. I've seen some gameplay footage with her and her attacks seem very reminiscent of SNK's Kim Kaphwan, which makes sense since they both use TKD. That's a good thing for me, I loved Kim.

The last two spots will probably be new characters or additions from III. Makoto seems to be a safe bet for one of the spots if they come from III.

Awesome.

If they do bring in any III characters my bet would be on Alex since he was also in the recent Vs. game.

Alex is likely if they go for characters from III. Makoto, Yun, and Yang were my favorites from it, but I'd rather see them have another go at some more new characters. Rufus sucked, but Viper and El Fuerte were pretty decent. Abel was a solid addition and Juri looks to be another one. I'd rather see them keep trying something new rather than try to re-energize characters from a sequel that no one really liked all that much.

And I keep waiting for them to do a "tribute" to Pacquiao the way they did Tyson for Balrog and Lee for Fei Long.

If it's a III character me thinks it will be Yun.

As for making a tribute character, i'd rather they make a tribute character to Tito Trinidad. I want a Puerto rican fighter darn it.

Anywho, can't wait. This looks like it will rock.

No offense to Tito, but Pacquiao has WAY more international recognition.

Yeah, i guess you're right. I guy can dream though.

Seriously though, do we need another boxer?

A Mix Martial artis would be cool, imo.

I hope mayweather beat him though.

I think a lightweight boxer would add a new dynamic. Balrog hits like a Mack truck, but he's slow as hell. A smaller, faster, combo-centric boxer would play as differently from him as any other character type.

Abel.

Alex and Yun were the most popular characters from 3rd strike. Yun was in CapvsSNK2 with Yang as 1 of Yun's Finishers. Alex was in the recent vs game. Alex was also the higher focus in III series. They would seem to be the safe choice.

Although Dudley would be a nice counter to Balrog. Hugo is definitely a huge power house and Makoto would only be complimented if Ibuki joined alongside. They're the ryu/ken of the female fighters.

EDIT: although it's hard to ignroe the fact that the III series has quickly become the red-headed step-child of the franchise which is a damn shame.
