South Park series discussion *spoilers*

Anyone see the new episode? Not really incredible but did have some absolutely hilarious moments

This episode was...ahh, ok. Is it just me or does it seem like in recent years South Park has sort of run out of gas, so to speak? It doesn't seem as fresh as it did. Maybe it's just me.

I don't think so this episode just had no climatic ending and it was building towards one, it felt like part 1 of an episode. I mean Mysterion contacts Kyle but nothing happens from that. The episode just stopped

I laughed so hard during this episode. The 'reveal' of Mysterion's identity was funny as hell. I love how they got the Newton/Zimmer score in there. And the use of Chaos was fantastic.

As for complaints that it had no ending... this is EXACTLY what virtually every superhero movie is, but in 20 minutes. They have a ****ty fight on scaffolding and then end with the promise of a sequel. This episode had me howling so much more than last week's. Especially Cartman's reaction whenever anyone insulted him or the Coon.

You hit the nail on the head. It was a satire of superhero movies, and while it wasn't the funniest thing ever, I think it really speaks to the strength of the show that the character work alone can make an episode work. The satire of superhero movies was only mildly entertaining, and not particularly biting, but Cartman and Butters as characters made it good.
