South Park series discussion *spoilers*

I was watching the "Quest for Ratings" episode last night, which is even funnier when you watch it with the commentary on the DVD and hear how they came up with the episode and the special meaning behind the Crab People joke. (Besides just being a reference to the Queer Eye For the Straight Guy episode.)

The "Imagination Land" episode was on last night and it was okay. Seems like South Park is largely the same all the time, now.

I did enjoy spotting all of the pop culture imaginary characters. Putting Khan from Star Trek in there was something I respect Parker and Stone for quite a bit.

I missed Ledger's Joker though.

Anyone one know what's going to be new in the "Imaginationland uncensored directors cut" Dvd?

"They just invented a cure for AIDs! All you have to do is inject yourself with $180,000!"

I think they missed out though by not calling this episode "Cartman's Wacky AIDs Adventure".

I'm HIV positive that it would've been great.

I was a little disappointed. The Cartman getting AIDS thing was incredibly funny, but when it got to the point where Kyle's busting up Cartman's stuff, I was ready for him to just peg the bastard right in the face with his XBox. Instead we get another "Cartman convinces Kyle to go along with him on an adventure" story, which I'm really getting sick of.

It was funny, but the structure of South Park's really gotten pretty damn routine. I don't know. Maybe the show's finally lost its bite?

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

When I they showed her in the hospital, I haven't laughed that hard since Imagination land, greatest show on television. The concert, the revelation, singing in latin. Just hilarious

The twist in this episode completely blindsided me, and Britney after her "accident" had me in stitches.

When I saw her new look, it reminded me of Metalocalypse, and that's always a good thing.

Man, I couldn't stop laughing when the two guys popped out and started singing the Omen music during the twist revelation. I played that **** back, like, ten times.

Sure, I laughed hysterically, but boy, did they go too far this time. For once, I actually feel really bad for Britney, 'cuz you know she's probably heard about this by now. For some reason the blowing out her brains part didn't bother me, it was how she died at the episode's end. Come on, paparazzi, give the girl a break.

Classic episode.

"If that guy got $3000 for a picture of Britney peeing on a ladybug, imagine what we'll get if we get her peeing on a squirrel!"

I loved the part with the paparazzi doing Invasion of the Body-Snatchers. And Britney's VMA performance.

"This new 'no-head' look really isn't working for her."

They didn't go too far. They were pointing out, through satire, how the media has gone too far. In fact, I found the part where Britney shot herself and the end to be pretty sad. The funny part was how callous and ridiculous the media's reaction is, which is exactly the way things are in real life.

As Mooney pointed out - the episode is a satire on how the media treats Britney Spears, not on Britney Spears. They just took the ludicrous situation that is happening and made it look ludicrous with the ritual sacrifice and Britney not having a head. At no point, in the entire episode, does Britney come off as anything but a victim.

I was kinda worried about this episode because when people were laughing at the Britney 'gag' in MEET THE SPARTANS, I thought, "A woman having a nervous breakdown because of the public's invasion of her privacy isn't funny". And I was worried that SOUTH PARK would take the piss out of her.

Once again, my worries were unfounded. Not only that, but the episode's story is ****ing brilliant. The Britney shotgun scene is so very funny, as is the sudden sacrifice twist. It's a brilliantly plotted episode that works really well.

Not at all, but I see how you feel like that, I mean she died pretty sadly, the people who pushed her to death didn't get a come-upins and they were about to do it again, its a very depressing and unhappy ending. Still brilliant
