Everything. This is going to sound REALLY stupid, but what happens at a Comic Con?
It depends on the convention organizers and other factors. Usually representatives from comic book publishers will show up and present info on upcoming events or title releases. You'll see trailers for films based on comic book characters, panel discussions on aspects of comics, talks with writers and/or artists. There's usually a dealers' room, where people who buy and sell comics and other items (like action figures) will be set up. You can frequently get good deals on issues or trade volumes or other things like t-shirts. People who make their own costumes will often be wandering around the con, and many will let you take their picture. This is going to sound REALLY stupid, but what happens at a Comic Con? I live in Mass, was considering Boston, but they don't list much info, and the artists there seem kinda... lame... Some more insight would be apprechiated!
You might want to check out some of the other threads where members report from conventions:
Wizard World Philadelphia
New York Comic-con
I'm sure there are more, but the Search function is still working poorly. These will give you some ideas of panel topics and other things happening at cons.
Happy Birthday!
As for getting tickets - I'm sure if you went to the website you could preorder your tickets and what not. The expenses would really come from the hotel, the flight, and the merchandise you'd want to pick up.
Thanks.
How much does that stuff usually cost?
Langsta, I can also ask Allison, since I know Adam Hughes and her as well.
Bass isn't special anymore.
Everything.
Every.
Thing.
You're going to the wrong comic con.Everything except sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll.
But, yeah, everything else.
When I went last year, I payed 75 for the ticket, 300 dollars for a 3 night stay in a cheap motel with one king bed, and about 150 dollars in gas for a 6-7 hour drive.
Plus food expenses, buying stuff, the zoo, movies.
The hotel and gas prices I split with two other people, so we each paid like 100 each.
