Why don't they call this thing something other than Gliese 581c? A one-word planet. Gliese 581c is a mouthful. How about just Gliesec?

Because that name helps identify where it is, they're not going to give every planet, moon, star, etc. in the universe a unique name. It would get way too confusing
 
But why Random? I mean, I can think of about four, maybe five unique names myself!
