Avengers New Avengers: Secret Invasion discussion (#38-47; spoilers)

Re: New Avengers: Secret Invasion discussion (#38+; spoilers)

I read 43 and i thought it was cool, how they explained the heroes in the ship.
But i hope they touch on it a little in the main secret invasion title.
Cool that they
inplanted memories, and even a memory of when they could have been captured, it makes the skrulls think they are human even more, even though some of the heroes like "jewel" and luke cage are hard ones to implant those sort of memories, cause i doubt they been out in space

What i don't like is the jumping around in the stories, one issue is about spider-man in savage land, next is about Spider-woman.

RE: #44

Am I correct in understanding that the Skrulls figured out how to go undetected on Earth by making a clone of Reed Richards and tricking it into telling them how?

Yes.

That doesn't make any sense. How can they create a clone to either think like Reed Richards (or clone whatever is already in his brain) yet not have the tech or ability to pick through his brain?

Exactly.

What's worse is that Bendis even tried to write an explanation into the story.

That's why I hate 99% of clones in anything

Yes. Dumb.

It looked like they were pushing the angle that the skrulls picked up something from the Illuminati's DNA while they had them captured and that was how they developed this ability. And while that is not great, it is FAR better than tricking Richard's clone into figuring it out.

I didn't mind the House Of M/New Avengers/Secret Invasion/Annihilation (WHEN WILL IT STOP!) tie-in.

I love the splash page of the Annihilation Wave. That made me smile. I need to read House Of M again.

DON'T DO THAT TO YOURSELF! This is an intervention TOG... we just don't want to see anyone get hurt.

The skrulls explanation of the Annihilation wave pissed me off

you'd think if they knew it'd be coming they'd have been more prepared than that.

The way I see it there should have been an Annihilation centric issue, from the Skrulls point of view, the beginning of the issue will summarize what the Annihilation wave did, the latter part will take place after their complete obliteration they congregate and try to work out what to do now. Spend the bulk of the issue following an arguement between the religous skrulls, and the scientific, the religous speaker being Queen Veranke, eventually Veranke kills the Skrull emperor, and then says "This was foretold, but instead of heading the prophecies you ignored them, Kly'bn and Sl'gurt have handed down their judgment to us, we will follow the prophecies as foretold by the scriptures, to show our love to Kly'bn, because he loves us, as it was written, we will take what is rightfully ours! We will take...."

*last page reveal, hologram of earth in the background, etc.*

"Earth!"

But no, the skrulls have been planning this since before disassembled

but #44 was still a great issue, and HoM as a story was quite good, I still don't buy alot of the Skrull reasoning bendis is using though, I did like how it compared the Mutant Decimation to the Skrull Annihilation though

to be merged

The latest New Avengers was good. We learn who's the demon guiding The Hood.

It's odd that The Hood seems to be the most successful at stopping the Skrulls infiltrating his group so far. Stupid Skrulls.

The Hood and his group are far more interesting than the Skrull invasion. I would rather see more of their storyline.

****ing Secret Invasion. It destroyed all my interest in Marvel Comics. It's taken over everything.
