Bingo. Particularly since the mutants were staying neutral thru Civil War. Granted Logan went off on his own and found war-profiteering conspiracy and Atlantean revenge.....but it just doesn't make any real sense for him to be there.

That is the one most rockin'-est things about this book right now. With Cap dead---Bendis is having Luke step up and unofficially be the leader.

I totally agree, Luke Cage of 2007 is pretty cool :) I am actually starting to like him.

I am also looking forward to spider-man's lame jokes about Doc Strange's mystic powers, and everything else.

(silver samurai loves lindsay lohan! that's such a classic :))

(I refuse reading mighty avengers as long as spidey, cage and doc strange is on new avengers roster)

But since Bendis is writing the both, it looks like their storylines will be more coordinated and the timeline might actually make sense for once. Oh, wait, it's Bendis. Never mind.

I picked up issues 27 & 28, and I have to say, I'm really digging New Avengers. As much as I enjoyed the first couple of arcs, this is the best this book has been. It's giving Punisher MAX a run for its money as Marvel's best ongoing.

I would really like to see some b&w variants. Remember what they did with Ultimates 2 #1 where they had the pencil variants? Something like that, except with ink. Leave it as it is - just no color. The coloring on Yu's art is strange - it's a good kind of strange. I bet his work in stark b&w is incredible. I would buy every issue in a b&w variant.

I like it too, which vaguely surprises me. House of M sucked so much and USM was been so bad for so long I almost forgot there's a reason Bendis writes so much. He's good!

But with USM hopefully making a comeback <crosses fingers>, and (I think, and I'm right) Mighty Avengers being cool, the latest New Avengers being good too, I think Bendis might be on his way back up.

Maybe he's just better working off other people's ideas, or just doing his own thing, instead of trying to drive the universe himself.

While NA was above average and enjoyable.

Punisher MAX is always top notch.


I bet Silver Samuari was pissed they interruppted his movie, not that they invaded his home.

I would be too if someone interruppted my Lohan movie.

Am I the only one who didn't really like it? This was just Bendis throwing together all of the characters that he likes, and having them talk to each other. He wants for Luke Cage to be a badass, for Iron Fist to by mystical Kung Fu guy who has a hardon for Luke and for Spidey to be rambling idiot. I like characters to have more depth...and throughout New Avengers everyone was just another guy said witty things.

Although I do like that it's tying into Mighty Avengers. I said on another thread, between this and Project Pegasus mentions in his Ultimate titles, it seems like Bendis' new thing is to tie his projects together.

This is only the second issue of a new arc with a new status quo, though. I'm willing to give it time to see how it plays out. And the stuff with Echo in the beginning of last issue was great, even though it went a bit downhill from there. Inverse Ninja Effectiveness Property, anyone?

Seriously though...when Bendis writes a book it's basically like the only things that ever happened in continuity are things in other books that Bendis wrote.
