My do-it-yourself Miracleman TPBs

Mole's right - they are no longer TPBs. But anyway here's a couple of pics. I have the first book done. The cover for the second book needs to be redone. I also want to create a dust cover because the material on the cover is really nice - it's like a soft velvety-vinyl material.

Will the dust cover have a cover? That looks cool as hell dude, you did a great job. I just mean like a picture of Miracleman or the title on the spine so when it's on your book shelf you can tell what it is?

Still looks awesome, just wondering.

Thanks. The dust cover is what would have artwork on it, yeah. I haven't decided what artwork to use. I do really like the Ashley Wood art from Hellspawn. The indecision over the cover is why it took so long to finish this, because before this I had planned on just a soft cover. I'll also have something on the spine to tell what it on a bookshelf.

Ah cool. When you said dust cover I assumed it was the clear cover that is on books.

But that sounds great dude. Finished version should look great

Dust covers are the (usually) glossy paper covers that wrap around the hardcover books. They have all of the colorful artwork and whatnot.

I now hate you more than Planet-man.

(Who I hated because he has all the issues of Miracleman and has never even read them, y'know besides all the other reasons I have to hate him. (Just kidding. (No, wait, he's not even here, so no, I'm not kidding. **** Canada. (Except for the maple syrup, that's pretty cool. (And also Alannis Morisette. (Remember how she was God in Dogma? That was pretty cool. (So...what's been going on with you lately? (Oh, you made a Miracleman hardcover? That's cool.))))))))

Dude, that is really nice looking book.

Thanks. I just put the cover on the second book. It will dry overnight - lots of gluing. I'm a little worried that I didn't let parts dry in between steps but it should be OK.

This looks amazing. Now if only McFarlane or whoever would shut the **** up and let Marvel reprint Miracleman...

If they ever start reprinting Miracleman, they should get E to do it.

I want to see it in it's final stages also.

I didn't take any "in progress" pics. The second book is dry and done. I will post some more pics in a little bit. I'm holding off on dust covers because I'm not sure what I want them to look like.

I think I got up to issue 5 or 6. I just recently read this and found it really great. My friend couldn't send me his winzips. Is there a site you could reccommend because he can't remember where he downloaded his?

There are several torrent sites which site rules prohibit me from linking to. I got mine form Bass - if you ask he might be able to email them to you.

I love it. The Administrator won't break his own rules. Way to make a rock so great even you can't push it E.

I finished book one (the Moore issues) and Noticed a few problems and things I would have changed.

  • I didn't handle #8 properly. That issue wasn't written by Moore and had no bearing on his story. I included it after issue 7 and before 9 so everything is in order, but it really screws with the flow of the birth story. Even still I haven't read the issue so I don't know at this point what would be the right way to include it, and I wouldn't have wanted not to include it.
  • I flipped the order of the last pages of issue 15. Careless mistake.
  • The scans I was working with are missing a page of issue 5 (I think) where Gargunza is explaining his life story to Liz.
  • I'm not sure I printed on acid-free paper, which if I didn't it would suck because I took care to use acid free materials for the covers.

Overall though, I'm pleased with how it turned out.

Dude, if you lick those pages you'll be tripping ****in' balls.

That's the way Moore intended it, man. You haven't read Miracleman until you've read it while stoned.

I mean, like, I just wonder sometimes, too. Like, how do they make cheetos?? They're all different shapes and sizes, just like people are, y'know?

For a few very brief seconds today, I had forgotten how awesome I am. Then I rediscovered this thread.
