Tron covers are the new zombie covers.

Yeah, pretty ridiculous. I like that the comments are filled with people who aren't clear on what this is supposed to be, and the whole point is to make it less confusing and easier to jump on to new books.

They could do this without the gimmick pretty effectively. Just don't screw with the numbering and have a consistent branding across all of the titles that are taking part in this, and some kind of checklist in the back of each issue. It's a good idea, it's just that Marvel is, typically, mucking it up with a bunch of nonsense.

I don't get it. Now you need a calculator to read Marvel comics?

By 2015, all Marvel comics will be numbered in complex fractions and imaginary numbers. They're just trying to ease us in softly.

As early as 2011, we're going to see Iron Man #|z|(squared)=z*z(with a line thingy on top)

I'm not sure why I'm posting this here since apparently no one besides me uses this thread
but does anyone else find the new "catalog" on Marvel.com extremely frustrating?

Navigating their schedule has always been ass backwards. It's poorly organized and running a search never pulls up what you want.

But it's been a while since I've been there and I can't readily see the differences now. What's changed about it?

the whole site has been upgraded.

now instead of going to marvel.com/catalog, you go to marvel.com/comic_books
then you can search by month and instead of giving you a page you can scroll down they give you 20 or 40 or 60 or 100 books per page laid out in a grid, but it's really hard to look at the books coming out in a specific week or to see all the books in December chronologically. The whole thing is very counter-intuitive and hard to use.

Countdown To Marvel Announcement On December 21st
We've been speculating that the Marvel Fear teasers are tied up in the appearances of Martian-like Tripod machines over the Marvel Universe the past year, for an upcoming Marvel Event in April next year. And that it's Iron Man based, with contributions from the likes of Matt Fraction, Brian Bendis, Christos Gage and more.

"Martian-like Tripod machines"? Huh? I must have* missed those.

* "must of" in TOG-speak

They were in Tony's dream world during the "Stark Disassembled" arc of Invincible Iron Man, remember? They kept "killing" him and his parents, and they made an appearance at the end of the most recent issue of IIM. They also appeared in Bendis and JRJR's first Avengers arc due to Kang and Ultron messing with the time stream.
