Marvel to be bought by Disney

This one was brilliant

Yeah, 'cause Marvel just bought Marvelman and Disney just bought Marvel.

So you guys took it to the HNL. Y'all takin' it to a HOLE. NUVA. LEVAL.

Wrong! You said the fact is they have with power rangers. The analysts you mentioned compare as you mentioned Jonas Bros but also things like hannah montana ect.. Which does NOT mean they haven't "tapped into the boys market" it means they have BUT there is a lot more girl marketed things.

See I never once argued disney wasn't girly. I'm giving you proof that they HAVE tapped in to the boys market. Another example is Disney's Cars. The toys sell , the shorts they show are watched and Cars is seen and marketed as a boys product. Now they have High school musical , hannah montana the movie , Cheeta Girls , Little mermaid sequels ect.. Dose that mean Cars failed? NO.

You are arguing semantics, whether they tapped into a the boys market a little or not all is besides the point, its still a a problem and having Power rangers didn't solve it, at all. That's why Disney bought Marvel to deal with this problem.

My point stands, despite your obsessions with a slight slip of the tongue.

So you are wrong and if you can't see the simple undeniable fact that they HAVE tapped the boys market just not as much, then I'm done with this as the thread is "Marvel owned by disney" not "The Overlord is wrong" (we have enough of those threads.)

You mean like all the mole is wrong threads we have around here.

Come on guys, lets just agree you are both wrong and whiny *****es for keeping on.

Isn't that nicer?

The funny thing is that Beast's secondary mutation actually looks like Disney's Beast.

This is a pretty amazing deal, because even the ****atious Spider-Man 3 made $600 million. Not sure how much of that actually went to Marvel (and would, therefore, at this point go to Disney) but assuming they haven't used up all of the good properties that's a large chunk of $4 billion if they can repeat that, which shouldn't be a problem.

And that's just one movie...I would think that they would be able to earn more and more quickly (via new & expiring deals with studios) on merchandising, toys, direct-to-DVD releases, etc. They're going to make that $4 billion back in no time.

then maybe they could hire me back...then i can say I work for Disney and Marvel (2 of my 3 life goals...where's a radioactive spider when you need one?)

I don't think this is going to end up a bad thing. all the people on other sites that are *****ing about disney making everything more kid friendly need to separate Disney the brand from Disney the company. After all Touchstone pictures and Miramax are both owned by Disney.

From CBR's Robot 6 Column:

Legal | A Marvel Entertainment shareholder last week sued to block Disney's announced $4-billion purchase of the company. Christine Vlatos claims Marvel's board of directors failed to conduct an appropriate sales process, and that the proposed transaction "does not appear to adequately value Marvel's shares." However, one expert says plaintiffs rarely win this kind of lawsuit. Meanwhile, Shareholders Foundation Inc. is trolling for Marvel investors to become party to a class-action lawsuit.

In related news, papers filed Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission reveal the agreement with Disney includes a hefty termination fee: Although Marvel has agreed not to pursue other offers, if it were to stop the merger to pursue a "superior deal," it would have to pay Disney $140 million.
