Meh, seems more like wishful thinking. There's no indication this is the MCU one. Even more so, she's referenced as Captain Britain which isn't something from the show.

It would explain how they got

There's a lot of interesting things they could've done with the comic in the lead up to Secret Wars (Gwen Stacy from Spider-Verse, Channing's Gambit). Instead they're all new variants.
 
Well this episode certainly felt rushed.

Captain Carter died and the rest remained with the powers of the Watchers, that's like... The stupidest ending anyone could come up with.

They could've done so much with this show, like, I dunno, flesh out Storm, for instance. Here she just.... Came out of nowhere, her universe wasn't explained, why is she worthy of Mjolnir... That's dumb. It's all dumb.
 
in the MCU's part of the multiverse anyway.

I mean, as hard as they try to tie their movies and shows to the comics, it's been shown multiple times that he has many variants that are not the one and the same person

exactly and then they're like "heres a montage of fucking cool looking ideas but we're actually not making any more episodes hahaha"

Out of everything to call dumb you picked the thing that made sense…but yes I would've preferred an episode focusing on her instead of Byrdie. I take responsibility for speaking this possibility into existence
 
As for overall thoughts on the season, I actually thought it was alright to good with the biggest outlier being Red Guardian/Winter Soldier (the only one I confidently did not like).

I'd want more MCU What Ifs in the future as comics that focus on the highly requested scenarios like the other half being snapped (or at least more interesting ones there's glimpses of at the end). I'm actually glad the show never did it bc I don't see it being done justice given the overarching gripes I have with the series (similar situation as thinking putting Spider-Man in the Sonyverse films will suddenly negate all the other problems)

• This was one of the coolest fights in the series and maybe even the entire MCU (still falls short of Ultron vs Watcher) but I'm not a huge fan of the finale and it might be my least favorite and that's exacerbated by it being the series finale

• I have never had the same Captain Carter hateboner that many other people seem to have but I can see where they're coming from

• The Guardians becoming Watchers was cool and all but I hope it's something temporary

• I'll chalk up Hero Infinity Ultron getting hoed to him losing the dawg that the OG one had since this one spent eons doing nothing and having a change of heart (Final boss became playable character)

• Strange Supreme literally making up the fabric of his universe was kinda cool

• The series finale committed the crime of showing more interesting/entertaining shit they could've been doing all along (at least this season) but instead we got shit like Bucky/Red Guardian roadtrip. I actually liked the Byrdie origin episode but it honestly should've been a Goddess of Thunder Storm episode without question

• When they were being multiverse nuked I saw a few interesting variants (Elektra Carter, Disney Byrdie the Duck, the rest were too fast) but strictly going by the ones at the end I spotted:

Six-Arm Spider-Man, Samurai Ghost Rider, PunisheRiri, Hot Assassin Wife Gamora, Blade the Moon Knight (coming to Zombies), Weapon X Thanos, Iron Kingo, Kamala Khan the Wasp, Sorcerer Supreme Maestro, Howard the Scarlet Duck, Dragon Hawkeye, Silver Surfer Jubilee, Sersi dancing with Peter Parker (idk he's doing the hand but my other guesses are Shang-Chi, Strange, or Ikaris. Peter is just the funniest choice), Nuclear Threat Deadpool, Kid Hela (from the VR game), Star-Lord Shang-Chi, President Loki(?), and the rest moved too fast

• Bryan Andrews is taking over for X-Men '97 so I hope this finale isn't indicative of what's to come for that. Probably not since both shows have an entirely different approach to what they do but I can see other people making the comparison

And so if this makes the VR experience canon does it take place?

Also have a question for everyone I don't know where to put S02 of What if either right after Loki S02 or somewhere after Shang-chi (ending of s02 is great right after Loki S02 for the rest of the multiverse canon like Blade,Daredevil,X-men,fantastic four,etc. but at the least you have to have seen everything from the infinity saga and the multiverse saga up to Shang-chi)

Yup, my thoughts exactly. In fact, the whole show essentially is just this. So many good ideas, and yet a majority get sidelined for crap like Party Thor, Happy saving Christmas and... ugh, fucking Byrdie origin episode.

Magic in the MCU can probably cap the God himself considering how Agatha and Universe Strange brokenly used it to overpower beings that work a league or so under Infinity or One Above All.

Happy saving Christmas was based and I'll allow Party Thor to stay on life support for the Captain Marvel fight. But yea it's a bummer not having stuff like What If Valkyrie became the Godbutcher, What If Wolverine fought the Winter Soldier, or What If the Invaders formed. Instead we got Red Guardian/Winter Soldier being unfunny and Nova Nebula being boring

This used to be one of my favorite Marvel series bc I liked Season 1 and loved the potential it had and I'm going to miss it, but I'm glad it's ending before more episodes like that could drop. Hopefully it returns in some way in the future with a new approach
 
My final ranking of the season would go:

1. 1872
2. Emergence Mysterio
3. Cosmic Queen Agatha
4. Watcher Disappears
5. Mech Avengers
6. Finale
7. Howard Ducking Darcy (it dropped from the top when it was inevitable that Storm wouldn't get an episode)
8. Red Guardian/Winter Soldier
