Marvel Cinematic Universe - Timeline (Part 2)

Depends if we are talking multiple time lines or multiple universes it's very different. If a branch timeline somehow created Mysterio then OK, otherwise they are introducing something new or something more similar to another dimension as shown in Doctor Strange. If he isn't lying about it of course
In Marvel comics, which is the same multiverse as the Marvel Cinematic Universe, alternative timelines and alternative universes are the same thing.

not sure I agree, having read all the Ultimate comics, they aren't timeline differences, many aspects are completely different that aren't influenced by time.

An alternate universe is cool but that's not yet been established in the films outside of Doctor Strange if a dimension is classed as the same thing. Nor have I seen that the comics are part of the MCU multiverse unless I missed something, at which point we can include all other marvel films as alternate universes

all Marvel comics, films, novels and games have always, and will always, share a multiverse.

On the topic of multiverses, dimensions should probably be treated as universes within universes.

Some universes have substantial differences to each other while others don't.

The film spider-men have appeared in the spider-verse comics. Also: https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Earth-199999

Iron Fist 2x05: "Heart of the Dragon" has a flashback that should be in this timestamp (0:15:07 - 0:17:18)

That ain't in the timeline. It should be right here before June 2016

It already is in the timeline, in between January and February 2016. I placed it there because Davos is still covered in blood from his duel with Danny (from the flashbacks of Iron Fist 2x02).

In the clip, Mysterio says that MCU is set on Earth-616, and he comes from Earth-833...

Two possibilities:

1. He's lying, maybe he tells total bullshit about multiverse and maybe he comes from the same Earth that MCU.

2. If he's not lying, maybe for the MCU in-universe people, their "Earth-616" = our Earth-199999, and our Earth-616 (the main Earth in the comics) = another unnamed Earth for MCU in-universe people

And their "Earth-883" = another unnamed Earth for us, and our Earth-833 (home to Spider-UK, which is destroyed, by the way: https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Earth-833 ) = another unnamed Earth for MCU in-universe people

The same logic in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, where Earths are named (or at least, referenced) by the Earth they are an adaptation of, and are not the actual numbered-Earths

• Earth-616 (home to old/fat Peter Parker): https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Earth-TRN701
• Earth-1610 (home to Miles Morales): https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Earth-TRN700
• Earth-65 (home to Spider-Woman): https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Earth-TRN702
• Earth-8311 (home to Spider-Ham): https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Earth-TRN705
• Earth-14512 (home to Peni Parker): https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Earth-TRN704

As someone who hasn't read a comic since the 80s, and even then it was just Alf and Transformers, I don't understand or know anything about the
alternate universe numbering
. So for the average dummy like me, why does it have to be so complicated?

The Earth (actually universe, right? Because we also count Morag, Asgard, etc) we've seen so far- 616. 833- Where Mysterio is from (if not lying). Simple as that. I have no idea (and I don't want to know, I like keeping things simple) what a 199999 is. They've never mentioned it in a movie, so it doesn't exist. The end. [/spolier]

Well, it doesn't matter what the movies tell us, Peter Parker from Earth-199999 (the actual earth number for the MCU) appeared in Spider-Geddon (multiverse crossover comic) so even if we ignore the official multiverse guides, it's still canon to the greater Marvel Multiverse. It's definitely not Earth-616 (at least, the real one).

I think they just call it that in-universe as the multiverse is too big for them to establish a cohesive order, so pahaps they changed their own numbering.

Out of universe, Sony have no clue about anything.

When does he appear?

Edit: I found him in the Wikia, he appears in Spider-Geddon #5 and he's noted in Spider-Army, after Spider-Cop:

33

Is his appearance canon for the MCU? If it is, when does it place?

You don't really need to put that in spoiler brackets. It's not an Endgame spoiler, and it's not from the Spider-Man: Far From Home spoiler trailer.

It seems logic!
But is it canon? Should it be included in the timeline?
It shouldn't, since it only shows MCU Spider-Man in another universe. If it showed the actual MCU universe, then it would be.

MCU universe? Marvel Cinematic Universe universe? It's Detective Comics Comics all over again.

I figured maybe some folks didn't want to know about multiverse stuff in Spidey yet. The Ellen clip was in spoiler tags anyway.
