So this confirms that BW was shot before TFATWS and is intended to be Val's introduction. To me, that's solid evidence to place it in April of 2024 before TFATWS due to the spring weather. Val is also wearing the exact same clothes she wears in TFATWS so who knows how far apart the scenes are timeline-wise.

Fury could have easily changed his "views" on sandwich cutting in 20 years. Of course, the obvious answer is they didn't know or planned for that Captain Marvel line back when filming Age of Ultron. Either way, I feel like Talos has only been Fury since after Tony's funeral, similar to what Jon Watts said.

Just because it was intended to be her introduction, doesn't mean the scene was meant to take place prior to TFATWS. I'm one that tends to go for using weather to help place events in the timeline, but I feel like Hawkeye heavily implied the scene is set around it. Could that be a retcon? Maybe, but it isn't the first time the MCU has done it.

Just because it was intended to be her introduction, doesn't mean the scene was meant to take place prior to TFATWS. I'm one that tends to go for using weather to help place events in the timeline, but I feel like Hawkeye heavily implied the scene is set around it. Could that be a retcon? Well, we at least know the scene was shot early in the year (2020), which matches the cool, spring weather of late March/early April.

I mean okay, sure the scene was shot at that time, but It's explicitly stated by the director that the post-credit scene is very close to the events of Hawkeye. I really feel like this later intention has to be taken into account.

Also placing it in Spring raises too many questions. So Yelena spent 8 months just waiting on the contract? Also, in the show its firmly stated that Elena Bishop is the one who arranged for the assassination after the events of the opening episode.

I mean, if the scene takes place in April, then that means that some mystery villain hires a contract on Yelena, Yelena then sits on it for 8 months, until she gets a second contract from Elena and finally decides to jump on it.

I get that the scene being shot in spring is quite incongruent with a Winter setting, but I feel like all the evidence is pretty clear around this.

I mean I've had to suspend my disbelief way more in the MCU. I just think it's pretty clear that with Hawkeye, they intended the scene to be pretty close to the events of the show.

Eh, if it can feasibly work, then I'll suspend MY disbelief that the scene in question could have occurred eight months before-hand. Either way is messy so it's subjective.

I believe it was confirmed in an interview that Fury has been Fury in all installments until Far From Home.

Honestly, there are things I don't agree with on this timeline, quite a few in fact, but I keep my own timeline that makes more sense to me. Moving the post credits of BW is one of those things. It's just something I've come to terms with here over the years. My own timeline tries to account for the logic rather than what a director says here or there, a prop, etc. Does this thing make sense here before this other thing or does it make more sense here after this third thing. If I watch the MCU, I want it to logically make sense both to me and new viewers I show it to. I don't want to have to say something like, 'well they shot it during this time, but covid and the director says its this now.' That doesn't work for me. So I put the BW post credits far earlier as it makes more logical sense earlier.

Side note: Does anyone know what episode of What If...? Season One is the missing episode that's being pushed to Season Two? As in, 1x0?.
