Lost *spoilers*

The whole "sky turned purple" thing kind of bugs me. We didn't see that happen, and thus have no emotional connection to that viewpoint of the event and feel detached from it.

Why not just say "the EMP" or something like that?

Because no one will know what an EMP is.

You remember last episode when the whole basement was wired with C-4, and even if, by some weird chance, anyone DIDN'T know what C-4 is, they could obviously tell it was wired with explosives? They still had to explain what it was.

Actually you did see a purple sky when is happened, but it was for only a second. And EMP don't usually make the sky purple.

They did show the sky turn purple. It happened on the season finale last year.

It didn't last long. Maybe fifteen seconds before Desmond turned the key.

You're saying it happened BEFORE Desmond turned the key?:?

All I saw was the blindling white light and noise that happened when Desmond turned the key, "blowing the damn". I never saw a purple sky, and certainly not BEFORE the turn of the key.

between 28 and 30 seconds and it was definitely after he turned the key

The world started to go to hell when the button wasn't pushed. The sky turned purple as the world started to go to hell.

That's the first time I've ever noticed that. If they wanted it to be such a big deal, though, why didn't they show it for more than one brief shot?

And even so...it still looks more like a blue sky that's being washed out because of the white light than anything. It's not really a shade of purple worth doting on, the way I'd pictured it from the way they talk about it. I've seen the sky look that colour half a dozen times at sunrise.

As Random's video shows.... it was clearly well after the turn of the key. I'm not even sure we saw anything outside the hatch between the clock running out and Desmond turning the key.

Yeah, geez, they should call it the purplish sky with a tint of bluish orange in it and tad of green so we all know what they're talking about.

Ya know, after watching this week's episode and then seeing the latest Jericho, I've come to a conclusion:

Why is Jericho (and even Heroes) better than LOST? Becuse they answer your questions within a few weeks of a cliffhanger and still keep some mystery. You don't have to wait 2 years for no answer, only more riddles.

It's now clear that Claire is Jack's sister, though he'll never know it - UNLESS - the other theory that Jack's Dad is the big boss of the "Hostiles" as some of us have thought before, comes through. And Jack smiling, playing football with Mr. Friendly might indicate that . . .

It's also clear that Dharma has never had anything to do with the the "Others," other than being their "Gostiles."

Or is that clear?

I don't know what you keep pushing that theory... But I'm glad.

The reason why shows like Heroes and Jericho are around is because of Lost, by the way. They're making a show based on the appeal that Lost has, but avoiding the pitfalls that Lost has succumbed to. I'll stick with the original, thanks.

Has anyone picked up any of the Lost action figures from McFarland Toys? Me and my girlfriend stopped by Toys R Us this weekend. I wanted to check out DS and Wii prices and any new action figures...glad I did. They had a bunch of Lost figures on sale for $10 each (they're usually $15-20 apiece, so I thought it was a good deal). I picked up Locke and Jack. I'm going to go back tomorrow to pick up the rest (the only one they didn't have is Shannon). The detail on these things is ****ing incredible. I've found a new collectible line (hopefully it doesn't fizzle out after two waves).

So far only Series 1 has been released.

Series 1
Jack
Kate
Locke
Charlie
Hurley
Shannon

Series 2 (released July, 2007)
Sawyer
Eko
Jin
Sun

Series 3 (released December, 2007)
Sayid
Desmond
Claire w/ Aaron
Ben

Planned Figures for upcoming waves (TBD)
Michael
Walt w/ Vincent
Boone
Ana-Lucia
Libby
Ethan

Any other Lost characters you'd like to see made into a figure (preferrably a likely candidate, one that actually has a chance of being made...Ms. Klugh or the Polar Bear would be considered unlikely...)

I'd like to see some of the rest of the Others, like Juliet or Tom/Zeke/Mr. Beard/etc. Maybe a Rose and Bernard two-pack instead of the usual set which accompanies the figures. Series 1 had a smaller scale Hatch boxed set, with couple inch tall representations of Kate, Jack, Locke, and Hurly over the Hatch, and Series 3 will have a Crash Site set...no word on if Series 2 will have one, but probably not since the Crash set was originally planned for Series 2 and delayed to Series 3. They've also scaled back the inital wave of 6 figures down to 4 (probably a good idea in order to entice more collectors, especially due to the somewhat hefty price of the figures).

Dude, I'm going to buy them, then have them get stranded on my own lost island, and make uyp my own story.

One of the episodes would be an hour long, explaining the origin behindCharlie's taped knuckles.

No one seems to have mentioned any of the philosopher tie-ins here (with the exception of Sawyer reading Ayn Rand), so I'll just point out:

First we had Locke, who is very much a "conscious thinking thing" who has been "shaped by experience."

Later, they introduced Rousseau, who lives alone in the jungle in a state of nature.

And this season, we've learned that Desmond's last name is Hume. He has problems with causation, determinism, and free will.

Next season, we'll meet a character named Nietzsche, who will suffer all sorts of near-fatal catastrophes, but be made stronger after surviving each one.
