Lost *spoilers*

I hate Locke. He bugs the living hell out of me.

This week's episode really broke this series out of the funk it's been in, though. Claire and Jack being half-siblings is an interesting twist, for sure.

Plus, gothed-out-Claire is incredibly hot. Not as hot as Kate, still, but...

Since the Others have dirt on virtually every one of the Lostaways (They knew everything about Jack's ex-wife, and knew that Sawyer's actual name was James Ford among other clues that they know a thing or two about them), I would imagine they know the connection between Claire and Jack and they will most likely find out that way... I'm sure one will find out before the other and there will be a touching seen when that one person comes clean... Like when Sawyer revealed that he had met Jack's father before.

Oh I can just see it know

Ben: "Well you'll never guess which one of your fellow castaways is your sister"

Jack: "OMG, it's not Kate is it?"

Ben: "I'm not saying"

At risk of looking like an idiot...

So, earlier, I posted that Mikhail's birthday was November 12, 1961, right? Last night, he revealed he was recruited to work for the Hostiles when he was 24, making it 1985 at that point. He revealed, also, that he had been on the island for 11 years... making it only 1996 according to him...

You're assuming that when Mikhail said he had the same birthday as the gymnast, he also meant the year. Its very possible it was just the same day...or he was lying completely, like Houde said.

I share the birthday with Dr. Kelso on Scrubs, and with J. August Richards, but not the same year

Sharing a birthday and a birthday and year are two different things.

Exactly.

Claire is teh hottest of Lost chicks. And goth Claire was very hot.

I like the brother-sister angle a lot. The thing that really annoys me is they won't know (if they ever know) for another 3 seasons.

Are you kidding? Considering how much info the Others have on the survivors, I'm sure it'll be revealed to them before too long...I can see Ben now using that bit of info to further his schemes along.

BINGO!!!

Talk about your Star Wars-like twists!

As for this week's episode, I liked it a lot. The Season 3 slump seems to be a thing of the past (hopefully). The past few episodes have definitly raised the bar back to its original level of quality (well, not all the way, but its a definite improvement over the early Season 3 episodes).

And Ice is right, we totally called Locke pushing Mikhail into the fence. Locke rules.

I have read the supposed spoilers for the next episode of Lost... and if they are true, which I think they are, it's going to be ****ing amazing.

 Breast milk... You made my Dayayayayaay! Oh, Dave Chapelle... Good ****.

I haven't read the spoilers yet, but I'm only saying that a lot falls on next week's episodes for me. The whole evolution of Locke's character comes to a point, as they are soliciting it, and I'm eager to see what happens... He's putting all of his stock into fate and to what many may think are selfish, knee-jerk reactions at the expense of the other Lostaway's safety. That dynamic has stayed fresh through the entire show, whether it be between Jack and Locke, or now Sayid and Locke. Either way, this is what makes Locke THE most interesting character on the show, whether you love him or hate him. I've done both throughout the duration of the show, but I am waiting impatiently to see where this goes. He and the Others, who are pretty much manipulating him, will drive his character until he is either given answers or he leaves...

Also, I doubt if Locke would want to leave the island, so I don't think the Sub is on his list of things to acquire. My friend and I got into a long converstion about the last episode and what would happen... I was certain of only one thing - Locke would either die or remain on the island. I would imagine the island, to him, feels a lot like home. He was given his ability to walk again and since then he has been capable of all the things he imagined... He's a good hunter, a thoughtful man, and has changed peoples lives accordingly. This man isn't trying to leave the island, but trying to understand it.

Thing is, from what we know of Locke's past, he's the farmer, not the hunter. I think that's the stuff they put that to in one of his episodes...

He's a good hunter, a thoughtful man, and has changed peoples lives accordingly. This man isn't trying to leave the island, but trying to understand it.

So which is it now? This is in direct relation to Locke pushing Mikhail into the Vibro-Fence. Is he still only a farmer in your eyes? Right now, at least, Locke is more the hunter than anyone...rash, single-minded, yes...but his prey are the Others and he's ready and willing to draw blood, we've already seen that. Locke's going through a change in character. He's shown before he'd put himself and his friends in harm's way to achieve a goal...now he's apparently willing to kill his enemies for it. Hopefully he doesn't reach the point where he's willing to kill his friends for it.

You make a good point, DiB.

Locke is as thirsty for answers as the audience is at this point. Like I said before, the island (and the Others) have manipulated him the most out of any of the Lostaways... This has made him a selfish person, compelled only by the source of all of the miracles that have bestowed him as well as all of the hardships. Since Ben and him had such a difficult relationship when the Hatch was still standing, he most likely sees him as the puppet master in all of this. It reasonable to think that Ben is pulling strings after all the stuff he said to Locke and Jack, too... Where Jack is angry at Ben and stubbornly rejecting the thought of explanation because it is not coming as simply, Locke is moving under the radar and risking everything to understand the island's functions. Man of Science, Man of Faith... With strings attached all leading to the Others.

One of the reasons he's my favorite character.

I agree with those thoughts. It'll be interesting to see in this week's episode just how the meeting between Locke and Ben goes...its only been 17 days since Ben escaped the Hatch, Island Timeline-wise. Feelings should still be raw.

The whole Jack staying with the Others of his own volition is pretty interesting as well.

I'm not sure what the writers are doing with Jack... We're seeing him becoming more and more friendly with the Others (after agreeing to do the surgery despite the fact that he took advantage of it and most recently seen playing football with Tom) which I think is out of his character... I don't think this is a bad thing, though. He's a tortured person because of his own actions and is constantly exhausted with having to fix all of his mistakes. This angle of his character has been lost in his recent flashbacks, but should still be emphasized (I have said before that he is becoming progressively annoying because his blind anger is being played up a little much). I understand now that the Others have given him an opportunity to go home will compell him to lighten up, but I would hate for him to just turn his back on the other Lostaways so easily. This, too, should be played up a little more now that there is obvious conflict between what the Others say and what the Others mean... Since the sky turned purple, he may not get his chance to go home, either... Which will be huge, I think, in the long run and for the rest of the season.

By the way, when the hell are we gonna get a Ben flashback?

Chicago Tribune's doing a tournament-style poll for best TV character. Sawyer's currently up against Jack Bauer in the quarter finals. It's a close race. Get voting(erm, for whoever of the two you want)!
