Lost *spoilers*

There's a theory the reason why Jack's father went to Australia in the first place, other than running, was to see his illegimate daughter, that girl being Claire

I think it's farfetched.

Me too. It would be more interesting if it's Juliet... :)

There's no official link (at least there wasn't this morning), but it was being posted on Millarworld, Jinxworld, and The Cabal. When asked on The Cabal, BKV replied, "This is hilarious." However, that is not a denial.

I can only hope.

BKV just confirmed it on his site.

Actually, this is good news

I concur, maybe the writing will get better now

This also begs the question, will there be a whole episode about lions?

If there's a whole episode about lions, there will also be an episode about Locke being able to talk to machines, and Jack waking up and being the last man alive.

And somehow, six super powered teenagers will show up, one of them able to talk to it's dinosaur

Where's that MArvel Lost thread compound started awhile back?

The news of BKV joining the writing cast is enough to make me actually possibly care about this show again. Maybe...just maybe I'll actually check out the DVDs and follow the show.

Maybe.

This is very good news...I kind of chalked it up to a fake rumor after not hearing anything for over a week. Glad I was wrong...I can't really see how it could make the show any worse, and I can think of a hundred ways it could get better...dialogue, plot, cliffhangers (as Proj stated). Looking forward to this.

You're a cynical bastard, VVD.

I think you guys are getting too picky... I think Lost has gotten better as it goes on. It's as entertaining if not more entertaining than most movies being made these days (Only recently have we gotten movies to at least talk about) and, not only that, but the characters are compelling enough to be iconic, at least from a silver screen platform.

It's great news that Vaughan is on to write... I think he'd be perfect for Charlie's development... As well as Hurley's.

I definitly agree on all points, Goody. Lost is the only show I watch every week, and make sure I'm home to watch (or tape if I have to work, only to watch later that night). But even I have to admit the level of quality in the writing has dropped off some since the first season. Thats one of the reasons I so psyched about this...I can't see how Vaughan coming on could do anything but improve the show (not that it needs much of it, but better is better, you know?).

The first season didn't have a direction... If anything, the first season was just a way to introduce a lot of mystery on the island, some that may not even be explained. As far as the second and third season go, it seems like there is more direction in both and less time searching for a direction.

The problem with that is there's less mystery. And while every story needs a direction to go in, once all the mysteries are solved, it kills off interest. If anything, I'd say thats something the writers really need to think on and explore in their writing. While there's still a bunch of unanswered questions about the island, the Others, DHARMA, etc, its all gotten a bit convoluted. I think a bit more stream-lining, a bit more mystery, would serve the show well.

And I know all mysteries should be solved before too long so as not to leave viewers in a lurch...but not all should be solved.

Well, as you have seen, the writers are still able to come up with a lot of mysteries... Out of left field, even. Did YOU see a second island coming? A submarine?
